DSP Media represents Young Posse, a South Korean female group co-produced by indie record company Beats Entertainment (Korean: 영파씨; RR: Yeongpassi; stylized in all caps). Sunhye, Yeonjung, Jiana, Doeun, and Jieun make up the group. On October 18, 2023, they debuted with the extended play Macaroni Cheese.
The Latin word “posse” (which means “be able to”) is where the name Young Posse originates. The phrase “a young group (of girls) gathered together with a purpose” is what the collective moniker Young Posse stands for.
DSP Media announced on June 22, 2023, that they will be launching their first girl group since April 2015, a five-member group, in partnership with Beats Entertainment, sometime in the second half of the year. On July 12, the group’s name—Young Posse—was made public. The group then made an appearance on July 16 at RBW, the parent business of DSP, during their label concert.
A teaser video for the group’s debut was released on September 19. On October 18, the group debuted the music video for their lead track, “Macaroni Cheese,” which also served as the release date for their debut EP.
Young Posse released the digital single “Young Posse Up” on February 4, 2024. The song is a remix of “Posse Up!” from their debut EP, Macaroni Cheese. Verbal Jint, Token, and NSW Yoon were among the participants in the remix. Young Posse released their second EP, XXL, and the lead single of the same name on March 20, 2024.
