Korean and Japanese actress, Jiyoung, who is also a member of the former K-Pop girl group KARA, was involved in a car accident April 1, 2020. KeyEast Entertainment, Jiyoung’s agency, confirmed the news.
“On April 1, Kang Ji Young was on her way home after filming for her new SBS drama Late-Night Snack Man and Woman when she suffered a car accident. She is currently receiving medical treatment.”
Jiyoung, who was in a vehicle with staff members, was on her way home following filming for a drama. A drunk driver allegedly run a stop light and hit Jiyoung and her staff’s vehicle.
Following the incident, Jiyoung was admitted into the hospital and is expected to receive further treatment. However, KeyEast stated the star received only minor injuries.
“The driver responsible for the car accident was in an inebriated state. [Kang Jiyoung] suffered minor injuries and is currently focusing on her treatment and recovery.”
Jiyoung will temporarily halt filming Late-Night Snack Man and Woman while she recovers from her injuries.
Jiyoung returned to the Korean entertainment industry in 2019 when she signed with KeyEast Entertainment. Since 2014, she’s been active in Japan as an actress.
We wish Jiyoung and her staff members a speedy recovery!
