ATEEZ was the first K-pop boy group to perform at Coachella, making amazing strides for K-pop in the States. When interviewed by Entertainment Tonight, ATEEZ commented that the performance felt like walking on clouds. They were so blown away by the audienceâs response to the music and how loud the crowd sang back their songs. âIt was a dream come true,â Hongjoon said. They talked about how nervous they were before walking on stage, but âwe were fly once we were on stageâ San said. People at Coachella commented that they could hear Atiny singing along from quite a distance! So the fans truly did show up and show out.
Yeosang noted of the performance, âUsually, before I go on stage, I drink a little bit of water, but Coachella is like a sandstorm, and my throat would get hot, so I drank half a bottle of water before coming onstage. This was something that surprised me.â
The setlist itself would not only impress Atiny, but those who had never heard ATEEZ before. When planning the songs, they noticed that most music festivals focus on rock or EDM. The strength of ATEEZ is that their songs are a mix of both! Because of this, they brought a live band with them, whilst maintaining some EDM vibes. The remix of some songs made the performances fresh and tailored to that specific audience.
Something fans might be tickled to know is that Mingi was spotted in the crowd at Coachella watching other performances! He was interacting with people and seemed like a regular concertgoer. You can find footage of him on TikTok, just casually hanging out with other attendees.
During their final performance at Coachella, Hongjoon held up a fan with âGolden Hourâ written on it. This was an announcement for their upcoming EP, Golden Hour: Part 1, set to drop May 31st! Be on the lookout for more sneak peeks for this release!
