c‘Country Diaries’ and ‘Marrying the Mafia 2’ actress, Kim Soo Mi, has passed away at the age of 75.
Kim Soo Mi debuted into the limelight through a talent contest in 1970 before skyrocketing to fame through the ‘Country Diaries’ TV series, which aired for over 2 decades. Also known for her outstanding casting in ‘Barefoot’ and ‘Late Blossom’, Kim Soo Mi started having health issues early this year resulting in several halts in appearances.
This year in May and July, Kim Soo Mi’s broadcasts were put on hold because of her hospital visits. However, the veteran recovered and resumed her normal career schedule in September. Unfortunately, Kim Soo Mi passed away on October 25, 2024. The veteran’s family confirmed the heart-breaking news which was received with a heavy heart across the globe. Kim Soo Mi’s most recent appearance was for ‘The Village President’s People’ tvN’s reality show September 16 episode.
Kim Soo Mi left an unmatchable legacy in the television and film industry through her numerous appearances throughout the decades including in over 10 television shows and over 50 television series. The veteran also appeared in music videos, theatre appearances, and radio programs and shared her knowledge through books. The veteran was also recognized through several awards including the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in ‘Late Blossom’ at the 2011 32nd Blue Dragon Film Awards.
