INTERSECTION member Kaz has released a music video for ‘Summer is Over’, the closing track on his debut solo EP ‘CODE LOVE’, which was released in September.
Kaz – ‘Summer is Over’ music video:
This gospel-inflected ballad features guest vocalist Mai Anna, Kaz’s schoolmate at Harvard University. The song was produced by the two artists together, and is about a passionate relationship that blossoms in the mournful final days of summer.
Kaz commented, “The song has a gentle melody that evokes the end of summer, with a warmth and touch that feels like touching someone’s skin.”
The music video features a full-length animation created by Mirai Mizue, who has made videos for numerous artists and is renowned for creating abstract and organic animation works called “cell animation”, a play on “cel animation”. The video is attracting attention online thanks to Mizue’s original interpretation of the themes of ‘Paradise Lost’, playing with abstraction, metamorphosis and trippy psychedelia.

AKINA, member of Japanese Girl Group FAKY, has released a new single “FUTURE”. She is a Half American and half Japanese singer-songwriter who stands out in the J-POP world because she has cultivated a unique musical sense that touches various cultures due to her experience moving around the world ever since her childhood. Her singing voice, which is both delicate and powerful was highly praised and her cover of “Amazing Grace” was also used as a special song for the movie “A Morning of Farewell” starring Sayuri Yoshinaga. As a newcomer, she has achieved an exceptional achievement.
AKINA is attracting attention in the alternative scene as a singer-songwriter while working globally as FAKY at the same time and today the song “FUTURE” produced by Kai Takahashi, who is a member of LUCKY TAPES and has worked on iri and Taichi Mukai has been released.
◆”AKINA – FUTURE” Music Video
This work is AKINA’s first all-Japanese lyrics, and her sweet singing voice and the chill sound created by Kai Takahashi match perfectly that makes the listeners feel more positive.
Comment from AKINA:
「FUTURE means to me self-reflection and freedom. With all the time spent at home the past couple of years, it’s caused me to feel like I’ve lost purpose at times. But those dark times are necessary for a change and I think this song shows that it’s okay to struggle as long as you try to find your way back again!.」 – Akina
Comment from Kai Takahashi:
「This is an ambitious all Japanese lyric song that I made for Akina who was born in California. I wrote it in the midst of the early days of Corona just a year ago and her husky and powerful singing voice matched the positive lyrics. The moment I heard her singing voice I felt that the scale of this song just got bigger. I think it will be difficult for her to balance her group and solo activities but I am looking forward to the success of both AKINA as a member of FAKY and as a solo artist!」
– Kai Takahashi
Also, on 6th October, following kiki vivi lily and PEARL CENTER’s MATTON / inui, she was selected to be featured in the new song of the two-member band The Burning Deadwoods by a track maker from Tokyo. Fashion is a common language that gets the attention of everyone around the world. This is because everyone loves to be fashionable and make a style statement of their own.
Korean general fashion statement is often regarded as one of the best in the world. With a mixture of accessories, cutesy designs, layers, and an overall sleek look—Korean fashion is becoming more popular as days go by. It is indubitably one of the most prominent players in fashion, entertainment, music, and many other aspects of consumer culture.
Korea, a thriving hub of creative innovation, has repeatedly demonstrated its global impact, a force that has only recently gained momentum and will keep growing stronger. So, it is quite understandable why Korean youths love being fashionistas.
The driving force behind Korea’s infinite cultural power and impact is the country’s enthusiastic generation of youths who are hungry for the next big thing and ready to create and consume indefinitely.
Looking ahead to 2022, we’ve dug deep into the common Korean fashion trends that are currently dominating the youth culture.
1. Baggy Trousers
If they had asked us ten years ago to put on a pair of pants that weren’t skin-tight, we would have rolled our eyes in despair. Yes, you read that right. We gave leggings and skinny jeans our complete attention that we couldn’t imagine ourselves in baggies. That was, until one day, baggies made a grand return, saving us from another year of wearing uncomfortable pants.
Baggy pants have been on the rise for a while, but it wasn’t until last fall when they started appearing on every street style photographer-covered corner in Seoul, London, New York, Paris, and Milan that the trend became undeniable.
Consequently, Korean fashion designers turn to the perfect bottom silhouette that prioritizes cosiness and comfort. And today, stylish youth pair them with big chunky trainers or monochrome sweaters since they are the focal points of each look.
2. Neon Fashionable clothes
If there is one thing that Korean fashion is known for, it’s color. The predominant color this year is neon. While it is not a new trend, it is clear that neon has made a much-needed reappearance in the wardrobes of South Korean locals and celebrities.
In a country where fostering self-identity through eye-catching aesthetics is a major concern, it’s no surprise that neon has made its way into the Korean fashion scene. This iconic color, which represents innovation and uniqueness among Gen Z, has ignited a revolutionary fashion fad among youths.
3. Face Mask
We can’t talk about fashion trends changing youth culture without making mention of face masks. Masks have become very popular recently. While being worn for practical reasons, some brands are attempting to make this new mandatory item of clothing stylish.
Although many people are seen wearing normal surgical masks, some brands have gone into producing fashionable masks. These brands are very common in Korea, and they produce stylish and comfortable masks that go with any clothing.
4. Chunky Shoes
For the past few years, chunky shoes (turbo trainers) are a trend that has been massive in Korea. They’ve become more experimental in color and shape, making them the top shoes of choice, especially by millennials.
Not only are they effortless to match with any outfit, but chunky shoes are excellent in boosting your height. Irrespective of what attire you seek to put on, a simple pair of turbo trainers can pull your entire outfit together.
The versatility and timeless chicness of the chunky shoe trend makes them so appealing. You can wear your turbo trainers with an oversized blazer, a midi dress, or even just a pair of jeans and a shirt. On the other hand, if your style leans towards streetwear, buying a massive sneaker with outrageous laces and embellishments might catch your attention and set you apart from everyone.
5. Blazers
Blazers always make a presence on the runway, no matter the season. A well-designed blazer can add a touch of practicality and elegance to any dress beneath. As such, South Korean fashionistas have begun layering blazers over everything from evening gowns to casual clothes, and the results are absolutely breath-taking.
Tailored blazers are a welcome solution to achieving beautiful yet modest outfits as casualization infiltrates the Korean high fashion scene.
If you’re weary of wearing worn checkered outerwear, you should try a stylish blazer. It will completely transform your look.
Bottom Line
With Korean fashion spreading across the globe, looking to Korea for future fashion trends is becoming increasingly recurrent. The Korean fashion scene has influenced the global industry, spawning notable clothing trends inspired by Korean high fashion and music videos.
They offer an unbelievable mix of establishing and emerging fashion brands, which give you many opportunities to dress your best at all times.

Seugli is a legend who has become a household name in the collaboration world. Six years down her debut lane under the Red Velvet girl group, Seugli has stood out as a highly skilled vocalist endowed with dynamic discography abilities making her a powerhouse performer. Her collaborations with artists in Korea and beyond, including the large number of potential notable artists hoping to team up with her in a project, demonstrates Seugli’s capabilities and aptitude. Here are some of Seugli’s distinguished collaborations of all time.
Selfish (Moonbyul ft. Seugli)
The collabo queen, Seugli, helped skyrocket Moonbyul’s solo career (an addition to her being a Mamamoo group member and its lead rapper). “Selfish” was Moonbyul’s first solo debut track that articulately showcased her sultry vocals and astounding rapping skills. The summer single engrossed in a soft melody blends perfectly with Seugli’s refreshing chorus into an addictive tune that credited the track an immense reception.
Butterfly (Seugli ft. Henry Lau)
Known mostly for her collaborations with female artists, Seugli showcased her gender diversity in a team up with Henry Lau for the “Butterfly” hit song. Henry Lau is quite eminent as a member of the Chinese-Korean Super Junior M boy band. The gifted duo released the track from Henry’s second EP Fantastic way back in 2014 two months before Seugli debuted as a Red Velvet member. The hit has amassed a huge fan base evident in the various translations of its lyrics in numerous languages.
Wow Thing (Seugli ft. Chungha, Soyeon and SinB)
The mega collaboration between Seugli and I.O.I’s Chungha alongside (G) I-DLE’s Soyeon and GFriend’s SinB resulted in an explosion of a noteworthy masterpiece. The addictive retro is a blend of the artists uniquely different vocals coupled up with commanding choreography and captivating rhythm that keeps the fans hooked.
Heart Stop (Taemin ft. Seugli)
The collaboration with the fellow SM Entertainment label mate and K-Pop legend SHINee’s Taemin created a frenzy rippling effect of craze among fans. The melodramatic single in Taemin’s second album MOVE, is a story highlighting a couple’s shared true feelings for each other on the onset of a break up brewing emotions in fans. The duet perfectly blend their vocals to the reminiscent lyrics wreaking havoc in the feelings of fans crediting the hit an immense reception.
Be Mine (Seugli ft. Yoojung, Chungha, MOMO and SinB)
This 2016 KBS Song Festival performance was off the hook as Seugli teamed up with the equally talented I.O.I’s Chungha and Yoojung, TWICE’s MOMO and GFriend’s SinB in INITINITE’s “Be Mine” cover. The stage was crammed with top notch choreography with each artists showcasing their dancing aptitude besides the iconic vocals. The energetic performance created waves during the festival and beyond making the collaboration amongst the finest and most captivating in the K-Pop industry.
Drop (Seugli ft. Mark Lee)
The hit “Drop” was an explosion as K-Pop titans, Seugli and Mark; a Canadian NCT and SuperM groups member, teamed up for a collaboration. “Drop” was an original hit performed in the final stages of Mark’s High School Rapper survival hip hop reality TV show back in January 2017. The single was ranked 7th overall in the MNET TV show and has gained massive following and views since then. Its eminence roots from the deeply endowed vocals that flow with the lyrics and perfectly blend with the rhythm.
Heroine (Seugli ft. Sunmi and Daehwi)
The trio; Seugli, former Wonder Girl’s turned soloist Sunmi and WANNA ONE’s Daehwi, teamed up to offer the fans a catchy track. The single starts off with an energetic note from Sunmi and Seugli who mirror each other’s image on stage. The equally powerful duo’s presentation is further heightened as the talented Daehwi joins in fashioning an uncomprehendably endowed trio performance.
Darling U (Seugli ft. Yesung)
The charming teamwork between Super Junior’s Yesung and Seugli produced nothing less of a masterpiece. The resulting “Darling U” single was composed by Yesung with lyrical penning assistance from his fellow group mate Eunhyuk. The pop single of medium tempo under innocent love theme illustrates a man and woman’s shy love and their endeavor to reveal their feeling to one another. The sweet melody confirms the duo’s worthiness of their member groups’ main vocalist roles as the “Darling U” duet’s quality is beyond amazing.
Hello Tutorial (Seugli ft. Zion.T)
Seugli yet again displayed her collaboration specialty by teaming up with Korean R&B idol Zion.T for the “Hello Tutorial” track. Under Zion.T’s Zzz EP, the piano-backed single with a sense of jazz harmoniously fuses Seugli’s sweet and soft vocals to his raspy tone into a masterpiece flare-up. The falling in love theme is perfectly elaborated in the lyrics with romance heightened by the rhythmic melody and vocals.
Our Story (Seugli ft. Hwang Chi Yeol)
In his “Fall, in Girl Vol.3” project, Hwang Chi Yeol collaborated with Seugli to offer the fans a memorable tune, “Our Story”. The relationship issues themed single demonstrates the emotional concerns bound to surface in a relationship in comparison to the true feelings ingrained in the involved individuals. The medium tempo hit craftily weaves Seugli soft vocals with some background rapping by Hwang Chi that bursts into an emotional addictive tune with lyrics that trigger thoughts on one’s relationship status and related action’s impacts.

South Korea’s most prominent rock bands Crying Nut, Dickpunks, HarryBigButton, JAMBINAI, Walking After U, Bluepaprika, Animal Divers, Rock N Roll Radio, Oh Chill and Duoxini have teamed up for a new studio live album, and is now available.
Wumuji Studio Live Vol.1 contains 11 tracks performed live by 11 bands selected by the audience and the #saveourstages campaign team among the 67 teams that participated in the campaign performance.
Wumuji is an abbreviation for Protect Our Stage, in Korean.
These indie bands came together in hope to bring awareness of the hardships the artists are currently going through since many independent music venues shut down due to the pandemic.
These issues won’t be easily solved at once, but the important thing is to reach out and support these indie artists in order to preserve the community of indie-music centered on independent music venues.
We did an interview with Blue Paprika back in 2015, if anyone is interested in checking it out, please do: https://www.kcrush.com/a-kcrush-interview-with-the-talented-korean-indie-band-blue-paprika/

The Asian community has been quite lacking in terms of red carpet appearances for the longest time. The rather conservative peninsula has slowly been opening up to the world while using the opportunity to share its intricate cultures. 2021 has seen the biggest number of artists with Asian roots take the Met Gala’s red carpet by storm. The term artist, in this case, generally refers to one who creates art by use of creative imagination or conscious skill. Below are some of the Asian artists who showed up for the 2021 Met Gala’s red carpet.
1. CL
The legendary K-Pop female rapper made a stunning appearance on the red carpet wearing Alexander Wang, a piece that took the denim look a notch higher. The hanbok-enthused silhouette off-shoulder denim coat was a reminiscent of the traditional Korean hanbok owing to its design and signature knot; with two long straps, on the dresses top portion. The Korean ambience was accentuated by CL’s unique hairstyle enthused by a traditional Korean headpiece that used to be worn by individuals of influence, mostly queens.
2. Eva Chen
The fashionable Eva made yet another triumph at her lifelong career of making heads turn with her styles. Eva showed up at the Met Gala in Christopher John Rogers’s flamboyant block gown. The low off-shoulder frock of many colors elegantly displayed the diva’s collar bones, which were accentuated by the sleek short hair do. The bold and warm colored gown with a substantive satin organza train was heightened by the contrasting checkered opera gloves.
3. Naomi Osaka
The tennis legend represented her multicultural Haitian-Japanese-American heritage at the Met Gala in Luis Vuitton. Created by a collaboration of Naomi’s sister Mari and Luis Vuitton’s Nicholas Ghesquire, the divine outfit comprised a blend of Japanese-inspired clothing and koi fish graphic print. The light strapped black covers of dripping layers complemented the chic dress with the obi-enthused belt signature completing the look. The unique hairdo and modern Japanese “Geisha makeup” added up to Osaka’s overall multicultural statement.
4. Rose
Blackpink girl band’s Rose crushed her Met Gala debut in Yves Saint Laurent. The K-Pop diva rocked in a classic black mini dress accentuated by a creative bow rapping around her bust. The contrasting black and white colored gear, which flaunted the diva’s curves, brought out Rose’s striking Asian pale white skin color. The complementing black heels further accentuated Rose’s long legs resulting in the overall simple yet perfect K-Pop idol look.
5. Saweetie
The Filipino-African-American hit maker made quite an appearance in a gown representing her deeply diversified heritage. The Christian Cowan elegant red gown; caressing the artist’s body into an art piece, turned heads as the diva gracefully rocked the red carpet. The gown contained countless hand-placed crystals and a train whose theme colors root from the Filipino and African-American flags thus representing Saweetie’s heritage.
6. Evan Mock
The Gossip Girl actor of Filipino-American descent paraded his tattooed thighs at the Met Gala in Thom Brown. The most striking fashion statement by Evan was his full leather face mask adorned with metal spikes. The rock-star and metal theme flowed throughout his outfit with striking silver rings and a dark blue short suit; whose blazer rocked a ring of safety pins artistically woven around the arms and waistline.
7. Simu Liu
The actor; cast in the Legend of the Ten Rings among others, of Chinese descent showed up at the Met Gala in Fendi. Simu gracefully sported a white-on-white top look paired with a fitting slim black trouser and black shoes. The signature thin black outlines along the edges of the white shirt and double breasted jacket perfected the design’s elegance.
8. Olivia Rodrigo
The latest VMA’s Best New Artist award winner of Filipino-American decent stomped the Met Gala in Yves Saint Laurent. The all-black sheer lace outfit with a rock-enthused look got heads turning. The lace gave a see-through impression with the off-shoulder jumpsuit’s bust area covered in a fluffy black feathery piece while an inner black underclothing covered the essentials. The black open heels, silver ornaments, simple makeup with a light touch of lipstick, black finger and toe-dos, and a laid back hairdo complemented Olivia’s all-black theme.
9. Sunisa Lee
Lee, a Laos-Korean-American 2020 Olympic Gold medal gymnastics’ attended the MET Gala in an ethereal gold outfit whose overall theme was a tribute to her hard work towards winning gold in 2021 Tokyo’s Olympics. The two-piece outfit; with the top accentuated with gold baubles around the arm and collar, low gold open heels, gold hair band, and a complementing nail-do brought out the vibrant and glorious look.
10. Gemma Chan
Gemma an actress of Chinese descent, born in London, graced the 2021’s Met Gala in Prabal Gurung; a Nepalese-American designer. The black sequin short dress with silver pearls; running diagonally from one end of the bust to just below the hip and creatively adding some sense of Chinese-enthuse character to the outfit. The dress is completed by an attached pastel green train which gives the outfit a flawless chicness. The complementing black stilettos accentuated with silver studs, silver necklace and earrings, and silver rings perfects Gemma’s overall elegance.

BTS members are widely known for their influential and hypnotizing lyrical pieces. However, these 7 beings have a life beyond music and its accompanying spotlight. It is through these outside-music ventures that the band members freely express their true self, vent out their emotions, showcase their authenticity and creativeness, relieve stress, and recharge to thrive in their demanding entertainment careers among others. Here are some of the interests by BTS members’ outside music.
1. V
Regarded as the most artistic BTS member, V expresses himself through various art mediums which he shares with his ever growing fan base. Other than music, V’s major interest is studying, which takes up most of his time through daily doses. The Global Cyber University graduate recently joined Hanyang Cyber University in July 2020 and has been taking extensive online English lessons. Playing violin was revealed as V’s additional interest in mid-2019 attested to by a video of him playing the “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” tune in December 2019. Painting also takes up substantial time in V’s life confirmed by his numerous posted paintings; most of which pay tribute to works of upcoming artists V encounters during his art gallery tours. Drawing is another V’s interest with the resulting creative pieces filling his social media platforms. A notable drawing was TATA’a heart-shape sketch; from a collaboration with LINE FRIENDS, that was embodied on BTS band’s merchandise for sale to stans. V is also known as the band’s photography geek whose exquisite shots end up as notable BTS ‘s twitter posts and cover art; including for Jimin’s “Promise” solo track. V also enjoys the satisfaction of his creativeness, an authenticity through his songwriting interest; a journey he embarked with seriousness in mid-2020.
2. Jimin
Jimin has a diversified range of interest outside music. Travelling is one endeavor that Jimin never gets tire of despite the band’s busy schedule. The idol mostly travels during the BTS band’s extended vacations and sometimes during their short breaks in case he gets the chance. Songwriting in another interest that Jimin enjoys as it helps relieve stress while expressing his real self to the world. Dancing has been Jimin’s major interest given that he lived the art since his studies at Busan High School of Arts. The contemporary dancer always works on bettering this skill whenever possible exemplified by his popping lessons in 2019 alongside Wonnaone’s Sungwoon and CIX’s Jinyoung. Jimin also revels in working out through simple mood-lifting exercises with his exercising videos cramming the bands official YouTube channel. When Jimin’s energy burns out from his energy-demanding interests, he turns to lazing around the house and watching TV shows; including The Game Caterers, and movies while recharging. The playful BTS member is serious when it comes to matters regarding his entertainment career, which is revealed through his interest for studying. The Global Cyber University graduate; with a broadcasting & entertainment major, recently enrolled for advertising & marketing MBA studies at Hanyang Cyber University in mid-2020.
3. Suga
Fishing is one of Suga’s major interests, which is indeed quite different and way outside the music field. The idol flaunts his fishing hobby severally in the band’s Bon Voyage reality series. Studying is another venture that Suga has maintained his interest on. Just like his fellow Jimin, Suga graduated with a broadcasting & entertainment degree from Global Cyber University before enrolling at Hanyang Cyber University in 2019 for an advertising & media MBA. His studying has recently focused heavily on learning English owing to his increasing interest in the U.S’s music industry. Suga’s interest for songwriting is unquenchable regardless of the idol enjoying over 100 credits for this venture. Writing songs helps Suga kill boredom and take his mind off life issues. Despite being a guru with the piano, Suga has taken up playing the guitar; a venture he claims helps in songwriting. He showed his new skill on VLIVE playing various song tunes including BTS’s “Dynamite.” Suga also prides himself in his technical side of music through co-producing various tracks including Suran’s “Wine” track; which merited the idol the 2017 Hot Trend award.
4. Jungook
Drawing is one of the interests that takes up most of Jungook’s free time. His drawing abilities were revealed in 2016; when he recreated Suga’s painting, and is getting better as seen from his progressive posts. Video filming and editing is one of Jungook’s unique interest, which he shares with the world through the band’s Golden Closet Films’ YouTube video series. Jungook also takes pleasure in working out through diverse exercise routines that do not necessitate the use of equipment. In addition to exercising, Jungook finds gratification in boxing, exemplified by a video post of him and his trainer practicing some boxing techniques back in 2019. In his free time, Jungook buries himself into gaming. He continues to excel in this venture, especially in his favorite Overwatch game.
5. RM
RM delights in soaking himself into what nature has to offer through his walks. The nature walks have a therapeutic effect that also revives one’s creativity. The broadcasting & entertainment graduate from Global Cyber University and current advertising & media MBA student at Hanyang Cyber University is also known for his interest in reading books, which he then recommends to the fans. He credits his readings for most of the songs he contributes in composing. Songwriting is another venture that fascinates RM and has made him Korea’s second most credited artist; after having contributed in writing over 170 songs. RM enjoys cycling whenever he finds time, including during his Vienna trip when the band was on summer holiday. His fascination for the interest is attested to by his 2021 “Bicycle” track in which he explains his love for the hobby. As an art fanatic, RM finds and quenches his thirst through frequent visits to museums such as New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
6. J-Hope
J-hope’s interests are an overall representation of his creativity. Collecting is one of this BTS member’s unique interest which majorly revolves around KAWS figures. His affection for KAWS is attested to by his studio’s countless snapshot posts with the band’s company supporting his passion through an inflatable KAWS figure. Studying also forms J-Hope’s list of interests, which is confirmed by his enrollment at Hanyang Cyber University for an advertising & media MBA after graduating from Global Cyber University with a broadcasting & entertainment degree. His latest studying endeavor is English lessons. J-Hope also adores dancing which he practiced long before joining BTS; including attending Joy Dance Academy in his teens, performing as NEURON’s member in high school, and background dancing for artists such as GLAM. J-Hope also finds fulfilment in his songwriting interest; an endeavor he has received over 100 credits. Production of songs also shapes J-Hope’s leisure time-killing undertaking. J-Hope aims to better his production skills whenever he gets the chance to despite receiving credit for contributing towards producing various BTS tracks including “Airplane” and “Life Goes On”.
7. Jin
Cooking is one of Jin’s special interests; a venture he flaunts in the band’s YouTube videos and previously active “Jin’s cooking diary” food blog. Jin also delights in the art of fishing, often alongside Suga, as seen in various episodes of BTS’s Bon Voyage realty show. Jin is also a video gaming fanatic and is known to enjoy most of his birthdays online gaming with ARMYs. Super Mario and The Lion King are some of his favorite games. Talking of Super Mario, Jin is an avid collector of Super Mario toys; an interest which has resulted into a museum of Mario-themed collectables in his room. Jin is fascinated by instruments as portrayed by his efforts to acquire skills on them. During his “Epiphany” performances, Jin displayed his perfected piano playing skills further accentuated by the ability to read music sheets. Jin also paraded his skills with the guitar while playing the “Boy In Luv” acoustic version in BTS’s 2016 concert. The talented idol delights in expressing his creativity by writing songs. His songwriting abilities have brought him praise for co-writing hit songs including BTS’s “Boyz With Fun” track. Snowboarding is another of Jin’s interest, which takes up most of his winter season free time. The energy-sucking venture gives the idol a sense of freedom, an outlet to relieve stress, and opportunity to exercise as well.

CAELAN from Japanese-American mixed-culture boyband INTERSECTION will released his first solo single ‘Forever With You’ on October 8, 2021.
CAELAN’s popularity has exploded across Asia since his appearance in February 2021 on ‘CHUANG2021’, the massively successful Chinese version of hit audition show ‘PRODUCE 101’, where viewers were mesmerized by his world-class performance ability and unique personality. The show generated some 5 billion views, and CAELAN’s account on Chinese social media platform Weibo reached 1.77 million followers.
CALEAN has since become a major celebrity in China, where he has appeared in commercials for national brands, graced the covers of high-fashion magazines as a style icon, and won the grand prize in the Idol category at this year’s InStyle Icon Awards in Shanghai.
His incredible team of songwriting and production collaborators on debut solo single ‘Forever With You’ includes j.Que, the Grammy-nominated super-producer who has crafted hits for Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Beyoncé, as well as David Arkwright, the red-hot songwriter behind Bella Poarch’s hit ‘Build A Bitch’, and songwriters Kinderr and Theo Ross Rosenthal. The result is a song that captures the sound of “now”. CAELAN himself has co-written the Chinese-language version of the lyrics and designed the cover art.
The music video has a rich and textured cinematic feel, with a grand scale that shows CALEAN singing on a mountaintop surrounded by nature and in a car filled with flowers, dressed stylishly in vivid colors and giving off an intense presence. The story of the video expresses his experience of embarking on a new path, learning to put growing pains behind him as he becomes an adult and finds his true identity as “himself”.
ーーーー
“This song is for vibing out, jamming, singing along, and partying.
This song is a great song for when you drive on the road and just want to bop your head through something. I hope the people who can relate to the lyrics can also sing out with their full heart as much as I did. I want to say a special thank you to the songwriters and everyone who has helped with this song.
There was a lot of hard work put into this. I hope everyone can have fun with this song.” – CAELAN

Coldplay and BTS collaboration single “My Universe” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart at No. 1. This makes Coldplay’s second Hot 100 No. 1 since “Viva La Vida” ruled the chart in June 2008, and BTS’ sixth Hot 100 chart-topper since September 2020, among other achievements.
“My Universe” is made history by being No. 1 on six other charts: #1 Rock Streaming Songs, #1 Digital Song Sales, #1 Hot Alternative Songs, #1 Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, #1 Billboard Global 200, #1 Billboard Exclusive US.
Released on September 24, “My Universe,” which is sung in English and Korean, starts with 95.4 million streams and 142,400 downloads sold worldwide. It was released on Parlophone/Atlantic Records and previews Coldplay’s album Music of the Spheres, due out on Oct. 15.
The track debuts on top of the Digital Song Sales chart, where it is now BTS’ ninth No. 1, extending the K-pop group’s record for the most among groups, and Coldplay’s second.
BTS now scores its sixth Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with “My Universe.” Their previous No. 1 singles were:
“Dynamite,” Sept. 5, 2020, for 3 weeks
“Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, Oct. 17, 2020, for 1 week
“Life Goes On,” Dec. 5, 2020, for 1 week
“Butter,” June 5, 2021 for 10 weeks
“Permission to Dance,” July 24, 2021 for 1 week
“My Universe,” Oct. 9, 2021, 1 week to date.
“My Universe” is BTS’ ninth Hot 100 top 10, dating to its first, “Fake Love” (No. 10 debut and peak, June 2018).
BTS accumulated its Hot 100 No. 1s within just a year and a month, which is the fastest feat of six singles since The Beatles scored six No. 1 in a year and two weeks for hits, “I Feel Fine,” “Eight Days a Week,” “Ticket to Ride,” “Help!,” “Yesterday” and “We Can Work It Out” from 1964 until 1966.
As “Dynamite,” “Life Goes On,” “Butter,” “Permission to Dance” and “My Universe” all debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, BTS ties for the most straight-into-number-ones and now shares the record with rapper Drake and singer Ariana Grande.
BTS’s loyal fan base ARMY is trending tweet such as “first band in history,” #MyUniverseNo1onHot100,” “BTS’ 6TH #1 ON THE HOT100, THE FIRST BAND IN HISTORY TO EARN 5 #1 DEBUTS ON THE CHART & THE FASTEST TO ACCUMULATE SIX #1 HITS SINCE THE BEATLES IN 64-66,” “BTS WORLD DOMINATION AND BTS PAVED THE WAY,” and so on.
“My Universe” also made it to the list of 2022 Grammy predictions: Record of the Year, and the actual nominations will be revealed on November 23, 2021.

The need to achieve new, vibrant, and more appealing looks has caused people to be more accepting of fashion styles with different origins. People’s taste in fashion can be impacted by what is in vogue, their beliefs, what their favorite celebrity is wearing, how they will feel about themselves, or a combination of all these factors. Of these factors, Asian fashion is one of the most prevalent in this age. It has proven to be more than just eye-catching delicate traditional or religious pieces of clothing dedicated to a particular group of people. But it has made its way into mainstream fashion. Fashion designers like Vera Wang and Rei Kawakubo are making this possible, with social media being the most effective way to spread Asian fashion. Here is how Asian fashion has impacted the world as we know it.
1. Bold colors
Although the rest of the world has a different idea of color blending, Asians are lords of the art. It was common to hear people say combining certain colors or wearing too many colors is a fashion disaster. But we’re currently seeing more people picking up interest in bold colors in a way they had never done before. Asian fashion houses are showing us ways to add some pizazz to basic clothing. Designers are pushing boundaries into the unfamiliar territory of bold colors, layering clothing, and using diverse textures to create beautiful clothing. They showcase colors that represent their moods, their personality, and how they look at life. These outfits are a delight to see and are even more beautiful on the skin.
2. Henna tattoos
Henna tattoos are currently a favorite for many women as they see them as a symbol of beauty and self-love. These tattoos were commonly seen among Asian women in preparation for matrimony. They are becoming more popular and getting mainstream attention as superstars like Rihanna have joined the crew of people with permanent henna tattoos. These permanent and semi-permanent tattoos are simply ethereal when done by a professional with knowledge of Asian culture.
3. Nose rings
We can’t talk about the influence of Asian fashion without pointing out nose rings. These were formerly rare to see but are now a must-have, especially among young people. Men and women alike are wearing one or more nose jewelry to add some flair to their appearance. They come in different shapes and sizes depending on the look you want to achieve. We see corporate women wearing the dot-like type and teen girls with the more outlandish type. Whichever you choose, remember that these are cultural and religious symbols in parts of Asia. They complement bohemian, streetwear, gothic, and even corporate looks. Wearing a nose ring these days shows you are fashionably aware and have good taste.
4. E-girl fashion
Plaid skirts, bleached hair, crop tops, fishnet leggings, chunky boots, neutral colors, and sometimes bright colors are all part of e-girl fashion. These looks were commonly associated with Asian girls and even beloved animes from Japan. However, the story has changed. E-girl outfits are gaining popularity among girls outside Asia. Girls are rocking e-girl fashion pieces during different seasons of the year to achieve an upbeat look. These outfits are perfect if you want to look like a live doll on any given day.
5. Kimonos and Yukata
From gowns to skirts to cardigans, Kimono prints have become a must-have in any closet, especially in the summer months. Fashion designers have created casual pieces for everyday use inspired by kimonos. Others like Gucci have gone the extra mile of designing dazzling pieces of clothing with some Yukata/Kimono designs that are making heads roll. These outfits that were formerly traditional to parts of Asia have now gained mainstream attention. The thin kimono cardigan with floral prints is the most popular among these kimono-inspired pieces. Additionally, women from different backgrounds are rocking wide-sleeved tops inspired by the kimono to corporate offices and outdoor events.
6. Gothic looks
Gothic looks have always been a thing, but Asian gothic looks are now “the” thing. Asian goth is a cocktail of dark colors and lacy collars. It removes the stigma attached to goth looks and makes it appealing to people who would have otherwise considered them too dark or devilish. Asian Goth fashion has statement cuffs, ruffles, feathers, or exotic embroidery that makes it more captivating than the plain goth styles. People are wearing these outfit combinations to work, casual events, brunch, and even on dates. It creates a gothic look with a touch of class and is proof that the wearer has an enviable sense of fashion.
7. Bottom line
The versatility of Asian fashion, including the intricate designs, delicate fabrics, and androgynous looks, is one reason it has such a tremendous impact on the world. The colorful clothing and stylish prints are a breath of fresh air in the fashion industry that we didn’t know we needed. Eyeliners are making our eyes pop, nose rings are perfect if you want to achieve a baddie look, and of course, expertly done henna tattoos are a delight to look at.

BLANC & ECLARE, a fashion brand founded in 2014 by Korean-American singer and actress Jessica Jung – formerly of K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation – is currently embroiled in a lawsuit for defaulting on a loan.
On September 28, Tyler Kwon, who is the CEO of Jessica’s agency and her boyfriend, clarified the news reports by several Hong Kong media outlets that BLANC & ECLARE has been sued by Joy King Enterprises over an unpaid debt of $6.5 million.
Tyler Kwon explained that the situation was “unfair” and that it had arisen due to the loan being transferred to a new creditor. He added, “The situation is one that can be readily resolved. This is not Jessica’s personal debt, but a loan made to BLANC & ECLARE.” Referring to misleading reports that suggested the loan had been made to Jessica as an individual, he added, “Her character has been defamed.”
According to Tyler Kwon, BLANC & ECLARE had borrowed $4 million from Spectra SPC, and Spectra SPC later transferred that loan to Joy King Enterprises back in August. Within one month of the transfer, Joy King Enterprises suddenly demanded that BLANC & ECLARE pay back the sum of $6.5 million, which included the interest, within two weeks.
Kwon stated, “After we first received the loan from Spectra SPC in 2016, we paid off the loan diligently for about three years. In 2020, due to COVID-19, we came to an agreement with Spectra SPC to extend the time period of the loan past what we had initially agreed with.”
“However, in August, the loan was transferred to Joy King Enterprises and without our knowledge that the loan had been transferred. Joy King Enterprises suddenly contacted us to repay the loan within two weeks.”
Tyler Kwon said that he had explained that BLANC & ECLARE had reached an agreement with Spectra SPC to extend the time period of the loan, but Joy King Enterprises kept insisting on getting back the sum on the two-week deadline. This ultimately led to BLANC & ECLARE being sued.
“Since September includes the public holiday, Chuseok, we said that if they gave us more time, we would be able to resolve the entire matter. But they insisted that we repay everything in two weeks,” said Kwon. “Considering the scale of our company, it’s a loan that can easily be repaid, but the entire loan plus interest in just two weeks, right after the transfer of the loan, was too much.”
BLANC & ECLARE merchandise is sold in around sixty stores in Seoul, New York, Beijing, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Taiwan, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Vancouver, after opening its first flagship store in SoHo, New York.
So far, Jessica Jung has not commented regarding the issue.

It is no news that the movie and music industries have a huge impact on what is or isn’t considered fashionable. The rise and fall of certain designs of clothes, shoes, beauty products, accessories, etc., can sometimes be traced to these industries. KPop and KDrama are key influencers of how people dress. When it comes to combining high-end brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton with street brands to give a seamless look, KPop and KDrama stars excel in this domain. They understand how to blend bold colors, adapt their looks to suit the occasion’s unique and eye-catchy outfits. Fans around the world who follow these stars are intrigued by their sense of fashion and do all they can to copy them. They wear KPop inspired fashion to make a statement wherever they go. Fans rush to online stores within hours of their idol’s social media posts to purchase the same or similar outfits that they wore. Young people are wearing bolder colors, adding layers to their outfits, and being careful when choosing what to wear so they can give off the same vibe as their beloved KDrama actors and KPop singers.
Let’s get down to some of the top Kpop and KDrama fashion that puts Korea on the map for fashion.
1. Chunky shoes.
Chunky shoes are an absolute favorite among young people these days. Millennials and Gen Z alike combine them with various outfits to give off a chic yet cool vibe. While some are wearing military-style boots, others are wearing sneakers with thick heels. Sunmi, a KPop musician, is largely behind the increase in the number of people sporting this vibrant look. Her fans pair their chunky shoes with oversized jackets, ankle-length jeans, and tops to achieve a cute yet fashionable look.
2. Bright outfits
Another thing about KPop and KDrama that put Korea on the map for fashion is their love for colors. Their celebrities appear in music videos and drama series wearing colorful outfits that would have otherwise been seen as too much. They merge these colors to birth looks that are daring, fascinating, and adventurous. Colors like yellow and purple, mint green and pink, pastel blue, and ox-blood are all colors professionals and students are picking up in their daily lives. More brightly colored outfits are entering the scene paired with vibrant makeup, matching accessories and even hair colors.
3. Knitwear
Another piece of fashion that has put Korea on the map is knitted clothing. These come in different styles and different designs. We see girls in other parts of the world wearing knitted clothing in soft colors to achieve a simplistic yet cute look. When paired with the right bottoms, like tennis skirts or ankle pants, knitted tops look fantastic. Since they are so dynamic, women are wearing them simply and layering them with other clothing. They are wearing them all year round because knit clothing can either be thick or light to suit the temperature.
4. Tennis skirts
Have you noticed that more girls are wearing tennis and pleated skirts now than ever before? They are not new to the fashion world, but KPop stars have made it more desirable. Gen Z and Millennials combine them with crop tops, tube tops, or turtle neck tops, and oversized jackets. They wear these tennis skirts with sneakers when they want to achieve a younger and bubblier look. Tennis skirts are comfortable, minimal, yet extra in a cute way. They are perfect for hot summers and give off the hot girl summer look.
5. Makeup on men
Make-up was mainly considered a thing for women in other countries until KPop, and KDrama stars came into the scene. South Korea’s entertainment industry is encouraging men to be the most appealing version of themselves. The members of BTS wear different types of makeup for photoshoots, videos, concerts, and other events. It has encouraged other men and boys to hop on the trend and make makeup a part of their lives. They wear eye makeup, lip fillers, and even brow fillers without the fear of judgment. The most affected group are young boys who look up to these stars as their idols.
6. Blending fabrics
Our list will not be complete without us mentioning that Korea is known for blending contemporary and traditional fabrics to produce dazzling outfits. Their celebrities wear clothing from other countries with traditional Korean pieces such as parts of the Kimono. While scrolling through social media, you see people of all age groups pairing fabrics of varying textures. They pair African prints with Western clothing to get a more unique look. Even those who are lovers of goth clothing are not exempt. They add a few not-so-dark pieces of clothing with other textures to look more fashionable.
7. Bottom line
The diversity and blended styles of Korean fashion have made it one of the most sought-after fashions in the world. People now know they need not be afraid of experimenting with textures and colors to achieve a great look. KPop and KDrama stars make these even better with their carefree yet posh approach to fashion. They wear comfortable yet different clothing and accessories and strut in them with the confidence of runway models. The best part about Korean fashion is that it’s easy to look good even on a tight budget.

America is composed of diverse communities operating under the world’s most conducive environment owing to the high level of freedom that is supported by the existing rights and privileges. The minority and non-native Americans are continuingly using music as a creative outlet for their suppressed emotions and a method to showcase the beauty of their cultures. The Asian-American community has also ventured into this outlet and are in the process of gaining massive reception, spreading their culture’s beauty and uniqueness while getting intended messages across. Here are some of the Asian-American Artists who are up-and-coming within America.
1. Katie (Kim Seo-Hyeon)
The South Korean born star moved to New Jersey at a young age of 10 years. To cope with the adaptation process, Katie immersed herself into radio listening; mostly as her emotion’s creative outlet owing to the racism and challenges she experienced while trying to fit in. The overly excessive music consumption contributed to her interest in pursuing music as a career. She enrolled into Berklee College of Music and after successfully participating in the K-Pop Star 4 reality TV show, Katie was singed under YG Entertainment. She trained with the agency for some years before heading back to Los Angeles, U.S, where she changed agencies for a more diversified musical freedom.
2. H.E.R
The talented Filipina American was born and raised in California, U.S, and made an early debut in the entertainment industry at the age of 10 years. Having won over three Grammy awards, Best R&B Album award and the Best R&B Performance award clearly showcases the young star’s skills and creativity expressed through exceptional lyrical masterpieces.
3. Sanjoy
The Bangladesh born artist and his family fled to California, America, when he was only 11 years, owing to religious persecution issues. Given the difficulty in blending in with others his own age, Sanjoy turned to music for companionship, which led him to undertake various DJ and singing performances in college. With a desire to spread the beauty of his culture, Sanjoy furthered his side gig into a career. He moved to Mumbai and co-started EDM/Bollywood dance group with a friend only for the two to head back to California on grounds of more creative freedom. The duo established the Port 22 record label where Sanjoy has been a producer and songwriter dealing with various genres, especially electronic pop. Sanjoy has collaborated with notable artists including GOT7’s Mark and Youngjae for the “One In A Million” track.
4. Raveena
The Indian American artist was born in Massachusetts and raised in New York and Connecticut, US, after her family migrated from India due to the 1984 anti-Sikh pogroms. Although raised in a traditional Sikh household, Raveena was exposed to Soul and R&B music among other genres in middle school, which birthed her interest in music. The interest contributed to her pursuit for music studies at New York University Tisch School of Arts and her eventual specialization in production of R&B/soul lyrical masterpieces as a career. Raveena started working alongside Everett Orr, a recording producer, in 2015 and has since then produced remarkable lyrical pieces and gained a massive following.
5. Run River North
The 3-member band of Korean-American artists has been in the entertainment business for over a decade and is among the first all-Asian rock band to ever appear on TV. The indie rock band; originally known as Monsters Calling Home after one of their songs regarding immigrant parents, is based in Los Angeles and gained massive audience upon performing on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. After the thrilling performance, the band officially singed under Nettwerk Music Group record label and changed names to Run River North, which was ensued by album releases, more TV show appearances and countless tours around the U.S. If you would like to know more about this inspired band, read our interview with them.
6. Cehryl (Cheryl Chow)
The Hong Kong American idol was born in Hong Kong and moved to Los Angeles in her teenage years where she pursued music production studies at Berklee College of Music. At a tender age, Cehryl played the guitar and piano, which laid a solid foundation for her now career as a producer and instrumentalist. The singer and songwriter composed her first extended play before moving to Los Angeles and has thrived to the point of touring with notable artists including Raveena and Still Woozy. Cehryl’s lyrical pieces are eminent for their attached emotional aura and acoustic compositions, which have been influenced by her bias artists; including Avril Lavigne and Joy Chou, whom she has been listening to for years
7. NIEMAN (Nieman Gatus)
The Filipino American musician was born and raised in Los Angeles where he majored in Film studies. NIEMAN unveiled his talent and passion for music through the “Why Do I Still” single which made waves on Spotify and Billboard charts in 2016. The dare to pursue his heart’s desires, despite having heavily invested in musicals and drama, paid off. NIEMAN focused more with music including a collaboration with Moira Dela Torre; his cousin and an eminent artist in the Philippine peninsula, which created an opportunity to tour Southeast Asia.
8. SLCHLD (Doohyuk Jang)
The Korean American artist was born in South Korea and raised in Vancouver where he undertook graphic design studies.
