We Bridge, the inaugural three-day cultural expo and two-day music festival event celebrating Asian entertainment and culture, is coming to Las Vegas April 21-23 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center and Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. K-Pop superstar boy group ENHYPEN is headlining one night at the 12,000-seat arena. We Bridge is presented by premier global entertainment company Infinite Prospects Entertainment (IPE) with the support of MGM Resorts International, the same group who helped turn the Las Vegas Strip purple in April 2022 when megastar group BTS performed four sold-out nights of their ‘Permission To Dance On Stage’ tour at Allegiant Stadium. With the explosion of Asian influence on mainstream pop culture around the world and its tremendous impacts across music, film, art, and fashion, We Bridge’s mission is to connect these various creative expressions within one experience and celebrate the various Asian artists and cultures that are fueling them. The result is a multi-sensory, live event that immerses attendees into a curated world that bridges what is now, new, and next in Asian music, media, art, and fashion.
The GRAMMY MuseumÂŽ will have its own stage over the three days on the expo floor consisting of special performances and Q&A panels with the music festival acts and is open to all attendees. Hi-touch events with the artists will follow each panel, accessible to all ticket holders of qualifying tiers. We Bridge is partnering with culture curators and creators who will showcase some of Asia and Asian America’s finest visual artists and their work.
“I’m honored to be bringing a celebration of Asian culture to Las Vegas, one of the most culturally blended cities and entertainment capitals in the world,” said Alex Kang, CEO of Infinite Prospects Entertainment. “With the rise in Asian entertainment into mainstream prominence, we wanted to bring more awareness and access to artists, talent, and brands within our community. We are excited to have K-pop at the forefront of We Bridge’s music showcase this year, as the industry’s impact and popularity continue to grow. We see this as our humble beginning and have a vision of building an even bigger stage that is widely representative of all Asian talent.”
Chris Baldizan, MGM Resorts’ Executive Vice President of Entertainment, said, “K-Pop has quickly become a global phenomenon which Las Vegas experienced first-hand last year with BTS’ incredible sold-out concerts. The We Bridge event gives us another opportunity to partner with Alex Kang and his team to deliver multi-cultural experiences of music, media, art and fashion to the destination.”
“The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to partner with We Bridge on its inaugural festival,” said Michael Sticka, President/CEO of the GRAMMY Museum. “Our Mission includes paying tribute to our collective musical heritage, while also celebrating the dynamic connection in people’s diverse backgrounds and music’s many genres. We look forward to celebrating Asian entertainment and culture by bringing our renowned public programming to the We Bridge stage.”

tvN presents ‘Seojin’s’, a spin-off of the variety show ‘Youn’s Kitchen’, which runs a Korean restaurant overseas.
Actor Lee Seo-jin runs a snack bar with ‘Youn’s Kitchen’ members Jung Yu-mi and Park Seo-joon. Instead of Yoon Yeo-jung, who was in charge of the kitchen at ‘Youn’s Kitchen’, ‘World Star’ V joined and is receiving great attention. In addition, Choi Woo-sik, who is well-known abroad for director Bong Joon-ho’s ‘Parasite’, is active as a new member.
In the teaser video, ‘Seojin’s’ sells gimbap, ramen, tteokbokki, and hot dogs. It plans to captivate the taste buds of locals with lighter menus than ‘Youn’s Kitchen’, which sold traditional Korean food such as bulgogi and bibimbap.
The producers of ‘Seojin’s’ said, “The idea is to introduce Korean culture rather than Korean food.” I express my impressions and thoughts about Korean food,” he said. “‘Seojin’s’ has a management philosophy that prioritizes profits. It would be fun to find out what has changed from ‘Youn’s Kitchen’,” he said. You can feel the charm,” he hinted.
There were often entertainment shows that showcased Korean food abroad in the past, but it was disappointing when the pulse was cut off for a while due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘Youn’s Kitchen 1, 2’ (2017, 2018), ‘Pocha Without Borders’ (2018-2019), ‘Will it be eaten locally? – China/US Edition’ (2018, 2019), etc were praised for raising the liking for it.
‘Seojin’ will open on February 24th at 8:50 pm.
According to the broadcasters on the 1st, JTBC will show ‘Korean food plate’ in March, where chef Lee Yeon-bok makes Korean food, and tvN will show ‘Seojin’s’ on the 24th of this month, where V, a member of the group BTS, works as an employee at a snack bar.
‘Korean Food Plate’ is a program that provides meals made of Korean food to places in the world that need meals, such as prestigious overseas schools, global companies, and professional sports clubs.
Chef Lee Yeon-bok, broadcaster Hong Jin-kyung who runs the kimchi business, nutritionist Kim Min-ji, comedians Heo Kyung-hwan and Nam Chang-hee, and group Monsta X’s Jooheon appear as the meal service corps.

Actor Song Joong-ki announced his marriage to British actress Katy Louise Saunders!
Song, who is known for his roles in A Werewolf Boy (2012), Descendants of the Sun (2016), Vincenzo (2021), and Reborn Rich (2022), announced his marriage and Saundersâ pregnancy through a message shared on his fan cafĂŠ.
 Hello. This is Joong Ki.
Today, I am greeting you because I want to share a promise that is more happy and valuable to me than anything.
I have promised to continue life together with Katy Louise Saunders, who has been by my side supporting me and who I have spent valuable time with while cherishing each other.
She has a kind heart, and she has lived her life passionately. She is a sensible and amazing person to the point that I revere her.
Thanks to her, I am becoming a better person.
We naturally dreamed of creating a happy family together. We have put in much effort to keep each otherâs promises, and we are sincerely thankful as a new life has come to us.
And today, based on our deep trust and love for each other, we are on our way back from registering our marriage to begin life as a married couple.
As we are now, the two of us will walk our days ahead beautifully while facing the same direction.
I sincerely thank all the fans who always cherish me no matter what.
Especially following the wishes and support of Ki Aile who provide the greatest strength to me throughout my acting career, I will work to fly higher as an actor and individual with the wings of greater responsibility and passion.
I hope everyone will be happy and healthy until the day I can greet you in person.
On December 26 2022, Songâs agency, HighZium Studio, confirmed he was in a relationship. News began buzzing he was with someone after he thanked âKatyâ during the 2022 APAN StarAwards. At the time, the media reported Songâs girlfriend was a ânon-celebrity.â
Saunders reportedly retired from acting after the 2018 movie Welcome Home. Saunders is rumored to have a daughter from a previous relationship.
This is the second marriage for Song. From 2017-2019, he was married to his Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Hye-kyo.
Congratulations to the couple on their marriage on upcoming child!

Over the weekend, three K-Pop artists and an actor made agency moves.
Following a week of rumors, it has finally been confirmed that Dawn has signed with the Groovyroom-created company AT AREA.
Dawn, who was previously signed to P Nation and Cube Entertainment, hinted that he signed with a new company on January 26 when he posted “New place, new music coming soon” on Instagram.
View this post on Instagram
On January 30, Dawn said, “I’m looking forward to working with AT AREA and GroovyRoom. I feel reassured knowing that they share a view on music with me. Please look forward to the new music I’ll be releasing.”
AT AREA stated, âWe are delighted to be able to introduce Dawn as our first new member of the family in 2023. Dawn is an artist who we have always admired. We will actively support him so that he can fully demonstrate his potential as an artist and quench his thirst for music.â
Kim Chungha is rumored to be departing MNH Entertainment when her contract expires in March. According to AllKPop, the departure will be a mutually exclusive decision.
Chungha has been critical of MNH in the past and has joked about wanting to leave. Sheâs commented about issues regarding the delays surrounding Bare and Rare Pt. 2 among other problems. MNH has also struggled to promote her and their other artists properly, with BVNDIT disbanding in late 2022.
The company, who is also home to Vvon and Lim Sang Hyun, debuted their male idol group 8TURN January 30.
Meanwhile, Chungha is one of the artists slated to perform at the MIK (Made in Korea) Festival February 18-19, 2023 at  Accor Arena in Paris, France. Other performers include CL, BtoB, KARD, Cherry Bullet, Pentagon, Kid Milli, and Giriboy among others.
After parting ways with Blossom Entertainment in December, actor Park Bo Gum finally found a new home!
On January 30, The Black Label announced Park joined the agency.
âWe have signed a management contract with Park Bo Gum, who is one of South Koreaâs leading actors and who has been receiving the love and trust of the general public while switching back and forth between the small and silver screens,â The Black Label said.
The label added, âWe are extremely delighted to be able to work together with actor Park Bo Gum, whose global influence extends beyond Korea. As actor Park Bo Gum has a wide variety of charms and talents, we will maximize our use of THEBLACKLABELâs strengths and know-how so that he can deepen his charms in many different fields, including as an actor. We will go all out in our support [of Park Bo Gum] all over the world.â
Park was signed to Blossom Entertainment for 10 years. During his time with the agency, Park had roles in Runway Cop (2012), Reply 1988 (2015-16), Love in the Moonlight (2016), and Record of Youth (2020) among others. The multi-award-winning actor is set to have roles in 2023âs You Have Done Well and Wonderland.
The Black Label is home to Taeyang (BIGBANG), Zion.T, and Jeon So Mi.
Yezi, who has made her name as a solid singer and rapper since Fiestarâs disbandment, left JG Star, a company sheâs been with for three years. Yeziâs contract with the company expired, and sheâs currently shopping around for a new agency.
While signed with JG Star, Yezi released a string of underrated bops including âHome,â âMy Gravity,â âRaining All Night,â and âAcacio.â Â
While looking for a new agency, Yezi plans on working as a rap teacher for idol trainees.

The cumulative sales in Japan of the previous 4th mini album ‘minisode 2: Thursday’s Child’ in 2022 were 179,421 copies (based on Oricon’s ‘Annual Ranking 2022’), and TOMORROW X TOGETHER surpassed it at once on the first day of the release of the new album, proving themselves as the potential leader of ‘4th Generation’.
‘Chapter of Name: TEMPTATION’ also topped the Japanese iTunes ‘Top Album’ chart, and the music video of the title song ‘Sugar Rush Ride’ is showing popularity in Japan, being ranked #1 on YouTube’s most popular video.

Momoland appears to have disbanded as all six of the remaining members opted to not renew their contracts with MLD Entertainment.
MLD Entertainment released a statement confirming the news.
Hello, this is MLD Entertainment.
First of all, we sincerely thank the fans who cherish and support MOMOLAND.
After a lengthy discussion with MOMOLAND (Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy), we respected each otherâs opinions and agreed to terminate the exclusive contract upon expiration of the contract period.
We express our deep gratitude to MOMOLAND who has been with us for a long time, and we will sincerely wish the best for the membersâ future endeavors.
We would like to ask fans to show unchanging love and support to the six members who are about to start anew.
Thank you.
Momoland debuted in 2016 through the reality series Finding Momoland. When they debuted, Momoland was a seven-member group consisting of Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy. Daisy and Taeha joined the group in 2017, making Momoland nine members. In 2019, Taeha and Yeonwoo departed the group and the agency with Daisy following in 2020 (in 2022, Daisy claimed she was âfiredâ from the group).
Daisyâs departure included a legal battle for unpaid wages as well as claims that Finding Momoland was rigged. Daisy ultimately won her lawsuit against the company.
Momoland had a lot of potential but lacked clear direction thanks to MLD Entertainment not knowing what to do with them. In 2018 and 2019, Momoland had two of K-Popâs biggest songs with âBboom Bboomâ and âBaam,â but after that, album sales and music releases declined. Momolandâs last EP was Starry Night in June 2020, and their last single album was Ready or Not in November 2020. In 2022, the group released âYummy Yummy Loveâ with Natti Natasha, but it was an English single.
It is not clear if Momoland will resign as a group with another agency or if they will go their separate ways and focus on their individual activities. In the meantime, Momoland is considered disbanded. Good luck to the members on their futures!

On January 13, 2023, an armed robbery at Rainier Teriyaki, located on the corner of Rainer Avenue South and Walden Street in Seattle, Washington, ended in tragedy as the three suspects in the robbery shot a man inside the restaurant. The man, who had a gunshot wound to the chest, was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
On January 25, Korean media outlets identified the deceased as Hansoo Kim, the father of Korean singer Sam Kim.
Rainier Teriyaki was Hansoo Kimâs family restaurant according to the Seattle Times. The Seattle Times elaborates that Kim was the restaurantâs co-owner.
According to the familyâs GoFundMe, Kim âloved being outside in nature and would spend his few days off during the year hiking with his wife and friends. More than anything, he loved his family deeply and would go to great lengths to set them up for success and cheer them on. He is remembered as a devoted husband, father, uncle, friend, church member, and local restaurant owner who was always willing to lend a hand and support those around him in whatever way he could.â
Kimâs funeral was held January 24, which had over 200 people in attendance. Sam Kim performed âDonât Worry,â a song he originally wrote for his mom, during the service.
Hansoo Kim is survived by his wife and three children: Sam, Sujin, and Juyoung.
Rainier Teriyaki is currently closed. The Kim familyâs GoFundMe is asking for donations to âgo towards any funeral or memorial costs, college tuition for the kids, and helping the family stay afloat financially as the restaurant was their primary source of income.â
In a tweet, Metropolitan King County Councilmember Girmay Zahilay said, âLetâs wrap his family in love & resources and letâs double down on the work to end gun violence especially in the South End.â
Please support the loved ones of Hansoo Kim, our neighbor, who was shot and killed at his restaurant Rainier Teriyaki this weekend. Letâs wrap his family in love & resources and letâs double down on the work to end gun violence especially in the South Endhttps://t.co/QN0p0XoBPc

No arrests have been made in Hansoo Kimâs murder. Seattle police are asking for the publicâs help in catching those responsible. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the violent crimes tip line at 206-233-5000.

Female idol group GWSN (Girls in the Park), who has been inactive since May 2021, won their lawsuit to have their exclusive contracts with The Wave Music terminated. The announcement came January 22, 2023, but the verdict was announced by the Seoul Central District Court January 12.
According to Asian Junkie, The Wave Music did not respond to GWSNâs lawsuit or appear in court, so the seven-member group won by default. If The Wave Music does not appeal Judge Yoon Do Geunâs ruling, the ruling will become final.
Despite there not being any prior news alluding to their being a lawsuit, the news wasnât a surprise to fans of the girl group. Back in February 2022, #SaveGWSN trended on social media as fans demanded better treatment for the girls. However, it appears fans werenât aware of how bad things supposedly were for GWSN.
In their lawsuit, GWSN pointed out the severe mistreatment they allegedly experienced while with The Wave Music. They joined the company in 2021 after their original label, Kiwi Media Group, went under in 2020. Since being with The Wave Music, in exception of The Other Side of the Moon and âLike It Hotâ in 2021, GWSNâs promotions decreased and eventually stopped.
The lawsuit states âThe agency neglected care for [the members] since the last album promotion in June 2021, making it impossible for [them] to continue working in the entertainment business.â
Along with lacking promotions, GWSN members were not paid, and The Wave Music could not provide adequate records to show the members were provided fair wages.
âManagement of the signed artists is one of the most primary duties of The Wave Music as outlined by the exclusive contracts,â GWSNâs lawyers said. âThe failure to care for the membersâas well as the failure to provide transparent records of finances have damaged the trust between The Wave Music and the GWSN members. Hence, the contracts can no longer be held valid.â
In February 2022, GWSN members were also evicted from their dorms when The Wave Music stopped paying rent. The company also got rid of the dance practice studio and released GWSNâs administrators, producers, and managers. Members Soso and Miya, who are from Taiwan and Japan respectively, also have criminal records and had to pay fines for overstaying their visas. The Wave Entertainment failed to take care of Soso and Miyaâs immigrant statuses leading to their penalties.
The Wave Music only has until January 26 to appeal the ruling according to Pinkvilla. If The Wave Music does not respond, GWSNâs contracts will be nullified, and the group is free to promote and sign with a different company if they choose.

Singer-songwriter Soseo freely expresses emotions that many people can relate to through music. In the past, while working as a model under the name of ‘SHUUU’, she prepared an album and released her debut song ‘Candy’ in May 2021, and has been steadily performing music activities. On December 29, 2022, a new single ‘EX’ was announced.
1. As soon as I listened to Ex, I felt so hurt. It’s been a long time since I felt like crying while listening to a song these days. Did you write and compose this song yourself? Have you ever cried while making or singing this song?
I am so happy and grateful to hear that you emotionally sympathized with the song <Ex>. I composed the lyrics and the top line of the melody, and producer KIME, who is always with me, worked on the arrangement of the tracks. This song is filled with a lot of emotional appeal, so I always felt like crying when I listened to it as well as when I recorded it. I didn’t actually cry out, but I do remember the tears welled up in my eyes.
2. The lyrics are so honest and straight, I like it. Do you tend to write lyrics based on your experiences?
I write a lot of honest and intuitive lyrics, maybe because I’m influenced by my own character. Autobiographical stories + Movies, animations, music, books, etc… I tend to build up inspiration from everything I see and hear.
3. You’re already best for me> has the vibe of old R&B songs, so it’s like a 90’s R&B mix that’s trending on YouTube these days. Did you purposely try this remix style? Do you enjoy remixing songs of these days with an old school vibe?
I didnât actually plan it, but rather it’s because I grew up listening to 90s, 2000s R&B, K-pop, and pop songs since I was little, so they say that the songs I’ve made are somehow filled with the sensibility of those days. It’s amazing to hear that it’s trendy, as I just made something I like. I posted Jennie’s solo 80s remix cover on SoundCloud 5 years ago, and now when I listen to it, itâs a little embarrassingđĽş
4. I heard that you were influenced by R&B in the 90s and 2000s. If you specify the golden age of music in your opinion, when would it be? How did you fall in love with the songs of this era?
I think people are most influenced by the music they listened to when they were little. The heyday of music in my personal standard is from the 90s to the early/mid-2000s, as I grew up listening to the music of that time when I was little!
Influenced by my mother and cousin brother, I was exposed to popular music since I was a baby, and I began to actively search for and listen to music from around the age of 7, and sang pop music from the age of 11. I remember singing Mariah Carey’s ‘My All’, Alicia Keys’ ‘If I Ain’t Got Youâ and Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Because Of You’.’ Haha
5. Your voice and singing style is clear and soft. Do you often go to singing rooms?
Thank you! I don’t go to singing rooms these days. When I was in the 6th grade of elementary school, I went to singing rooms four times a week.
6. Tell us your favorite singers and songs both in Korea and abroad.
There are so many artists I love, so it’s hard to decide.
Korean Singer: IU, Naul
Song: âYou, In The Same Time With Meâ by Naul
Abroad Singer: Ariana Grande
Song: âJust The Way You Areâ by Billy Joel
7. What genre do you hate the most?
I listen to so many different genres, and there is no particular genre I don’t like!
8. Have you had any part-time job while in school? If so, what was it?
Well, I did make and served pizza at a wood-fired pizza house, worked at a PC room, convenience store and cafe, worked as a salesperson at a department store salesperson, as a kitchen assistant at an izakaya⌠These immediately came to mind. I think Kitchen assistant was the best fit for me. You don’t have to talk, and it was fun to prepare ingredients and cook.
9. Which dance choreography have you recently learned?
I haven’t learned any choreography, but I’ve done a cover dance of New Jeans â OMGâ.
10. Is there anything as a child you wished you had that does or does not matter now?
When I was little, I wanted to have a big dollhouse. I still want it now. When I earn a lot of money later, I want to have a secret playroom filled with things I like, such as dolls, toys, and games. I will pass it on to my children.
11. Whatâs your favorite liquor and how much can you drink?
I am literally an âalcoholic trashâ, which means someone of alcohol intolerance and is called âAlsâ in Korea. I get completely drunk by only 4 small cups of soju. Iâve once been taken to 119 after drinking in the past. I don’t drink alcohol at all.
12. Do you usually stay at home during your break time or do you like to go out and hang out with others?
I like staying at home. I like shopping, cooking at home, walking nearby, and going to cafes.
13. Where is your favorite travel destination, where do you most want to go?
I want to go to Bali. I want to jump in for a swim as soon as I wake up at an accommodation with the sea right in front of me.
14. What is your dating style?
I like a relationship where I feel comfortable and have a deep bond as that of a best friend or family. I tend to act cute and lovely when Iâm with the person I love.
15. Falling in love and dating can be different. If you had to choose between dating and love?
You have to fall in love to be able to date someone. I tend to pursue a serious relationship, so dating is possible only when I can imagine a future together with that person!
16. Please say a word to your KCrush fans?
Hello KCRUSH readers, I am a singer-songwriter Soseo! It was so nice to be able to meet you all with this interview, and the questions were so intriguing that I could really enjoy the interview. I hope this will be an opportunity to get closer to you guys! Please look forward to the new albums that will be released in the future. I upload my activities frequently through my Instagram and YouTube channels, so please watch over them. Thank you. Happy New Year <3
We want to thank Soseo for her time and giving such an indepth interview. Much continued success.

Itâs a mystery to behold when oneâs wildest dreams come true. And this has been the case with Atsushi Okada, when his photography pursuit led him into the fairy island of Yururi-the phantom island inhabited by wild horses. In an interview with KCrush America Magazine, Atsushi Okada unwinds about his photography journey, his works, and fortunate opportunity of revealing the enchanted sanctuary, Yururi island, to the world through photo stories.

I have loved drawing pictures since I was a child. I always felt comfortable spending time alone creating something. Eventually, that moved from drawing to photography. However, it doesnât feel like I am doing something completely different. I guess photography became more compatible with my way of expression. People stop drawing in as they grow up. However, I still like the times when I can forget myself in the face of a blank piece of paper, just as I did back then. That has now changed to âphotographsâ instead of âpaper and pencilâ.

Yururi Island is an uninhabited island off the coast of Nemuro City in Hokkaido, the easternmost point of Japan’s mainland. Although it is a small island with a circumference of only about 8 km, the island is designated as a natural monument as a breeding ground for seabirds. As such, landing on the island is severely restricted.
I learned about the existence of Yururi Island around 2009. An editor I was close to in Tokyo told me that there is apparently an island at the eastern end of Japan where only horses live. But at the time, no one in Japan was aware of it. Even I, who was born in Hokkaido where Yururi Island is located and lived there until I was 19, did not know of its existence.
So, it was very difficult to get permission to go to the island, and there was very little information regarding it too. After two years of negotiations, I was able to cross over to the island for the first time in 2011. There is no port on the island, so we were taken by fishermen in a small fishing boat that could dock there.

I will never forget the first time I visited the island of Yururi and saw a group of horses standing in an uninhabited grassland. It was as though I had stumbled across creatures from a myth passed down from generation to generation. Yururi Island was covered with such unbelievable sights.
The only man-made object on the island is a lighthouse. There is not a single road made for humans to walk on. Misty grasslands spread out before my eyes. Only horses lived quietly in this meadow where humans rarely set foot.
I decided to capture that beauty in my photographs. Rather than going just once, I wanted to visit the island over a long period of time, to photograph the horses that lived there. Yururi Island had only female horses, and so they were sure to go extinct one day. I wanted to keep the beautiful scenery and the horses alive in my photographs, even though they would inevitably disappear.

I usually live in Tokyo. I only go to Yururi Island for photography a few times a year. However, since I have been visiting the island for more than 10 years, I have accumulated a huge number of photos and videos up until now. I spend my days thinking about what I can do to ensure that they will not just end up being consumed and forgotten, but will continue to exist in this world 10 or 50 years from now. Perhaps it is because I live in Tokyo – a city surrounded by skyscrapers – that I so frequently think about the sight of those horses, standing in a meadow, on a small island on the edge of the world.

I am currently being interviewed about Yururi Island, but I do not know at this moment if the horses are even still on that island. It is unknowable. That is why I think its existence is precious and beautiful. And I do not even know if what I consider beautiful still exists in this world. So, I guess we could call it almost âLost islandâ. We cannot prove that. Because at this moment, I cannot verify that there even is a horse on the island. Thatâs why sometimes I wonder if this is just one long dream. The island known as Yururi may very well be real, but whether the horses and the scenes I found so beautiful really exist at allâŚ
To me, Yururi Island is a very sacred place. I think of it as a kind of sanctuary in the small port town of Nemuro, where Yururi Island is located. Therefore, I consider it to be an island that humans should not easily be able to set foot on. Myself included, of course. Thatâs why, from now on, I will not go there without a reason. The beauty of Yururi Island is so delicate that it would be destroyed immediately if humans were to set foot on it so easily.

The book on Yururi Island will be published in the spring of 2023. It will be very important in my life because it is proof that the world I saw existed. If it does not exist as a book, the story I am telling now about Yururi Island may be no different than the dream I had yesterday.
In the summer, I will hold an exhibition of Yururi Island at an art museum in Hokkaido. I think it is very important to talk about Yururi Island within the framework of âartâ. Because 10 years from now, there may be no more horses on the island. In fact, they may already be gone. But even so, every time my work is exhibited in a museum, people will remember the island and talk about the horses that were there. I believe that the horses of Yururi Island will live on through my works, not to be forgotten, but to be passed on.

Visiting Yururi Island from Tokyo has had a big impact on my life. All of my works have influenced me in the same way. So, to some extent, I think all of my works have influenced each other.
My photo book âMOTHERâ was published in 2014, but I shot this work around 2008. âMOTHERâ is a work that vividly follows the process of one woman’s childbirth. My desire to capture the moment a human is born was influenced by the publication of my photo book âI amâ the year before, in 2007.
Mr. Yasuda, photographed in âShota Yasuda Photo Collection: LIFE IS (2020)â, is a famous idol in Japan. He is also a member of the most popular idol group in Japan, known as âKanjani Eightâ. He has told me that he has liked my work for more than 10 years, which led me to shoot his photo book. Rather than the photo book of an idol, we worked together to produce it as a work of art. Mr. Yasuda is a very sensitive and kind-hearted person.

In the works I have presented so far, the subject may seem different depending on the piece. But in my mind, everything is connected. In this sense, I would say that âTHE WORLDâ connects each of my pieces in an easy-to-understand way. In âTHE WORLDâ, stories of childbirth, self-harm, and the earthquake that hit Japan in 2011 are all told through the same medium of photographs. The title of the work does not mean âmy worldâ. I tried to perceive this âworldâ in which âIâ live, through the act of taking photographs.

I have no desire to achieve anything. I did not start taking pictures of Yururi Island because I was asked to do so for work. So, I did not go to the island for money or to make a living. Rather, itâs something I personally have spent a huge amount of time, energy, and money on.
If someone asks me âwhat is the purpose of taking pictures of Yururi?â, I would not be able to explain it in a simple way. I don’t think itâs something other people will understand.
I don’t know what will happen to Yururi Island in the future. I don’t know if there will still be horses on the island in 10 years, or if they are already gone. So, I think leaving this piece behind is the only thing I can do.

I am currently preparing for a book on Yururi Island to be published this spring and an exhibition to be held at a museum in Japan this summer. I can’t imagine what will happen beyond that. I don’t even know when I will next visit the island.
But back in 2011, when I first traveled to Yururi Island, I never imagined that 10 years later the American media would be asking me about it. In the same way, there may come another time in the future that I never would have even imagined would happen. For example, in a few years, there might be an exhibition of Yururi Island in an American museum. I look forward to such a future.
Thank you for asking about Yururi Island. I am glad that people in the US know about this small island in a corner of Japan.

Essentials constitute of intrinsic elements that are fundamental in various aspects and purposes. K-Pop essentials for fans showcase the fandomsâ unwavering support towards their bias idols. While there exists a variety of K-Pop merchandise, the following collections are considered as basic and most essential to any K-Pop fanatic.
1. Photoalbum
With the evolution in technology, physical CDs have become a thing of the past, although not for K-Pop fans. Nonetheless, the latest album version that is highly essential for any K-Pop fan is the photoalbum. Just as a CD is filled with an artist or groupâs music, a photoalbum on the other hand is a collection of collectables related to the artist or group. The collectables include a photo book, t-shirt, and photocards among others. The photoalbum has become a trend and is being done in various editions (limited, deluxe, standard, etc.) and volumes (vol.1, vol.12, etc.). A photoalbum is a K-Pop fanâs way of expressing their undying love for their bias artist or group.
2. Photocards
Compared to the photoalbums, photocards are smaller and easier to carry around. Photocards usually come in the size of trading cards, are part of the photoalbum, and are always found in K-Pop events and concerts. These collectables are more treasured in the case of K-Pop groups since each photocard is dedicated to each of the bandâs members. As such, photocards enables a fan to have his or her bias K-Pop icon all in one photo rather than all group members in one photo.
3. Posters
Photocards and photoalbums are essential, but so are posters. Posters are such a unique and shouting statement that has become an essential collectable for justifying oneâs love and support towards a specific K-Pop idol or group. The posters vary in size and content in accordance to each fanâs preferences. They express oneâs loyalty to a particular K-Pop idol and are a fun way of vamping up oneâs space.
4. Wearables
A fan is never complete without securing a wearable whose content is dedicated to his or her favorite idol, including the idolâs face, their motto or lyrics among others. The most common wearables are t-shirts with the most treasured ones being those part of a K-pop groupâs photoalbum edition. In addition to clothing, some agencies such as SM Entertainment go a step further and give fans the option of having wearables in form of jewelry. As such, the agency releases editions of jewelry, such as bracelets, representing each of their K-Pop groups and artists. This has become quite a trend since unlike the clothing wearables, most of the jewelry can be worn anywhere and on any day giving the fans more freedom to express their support towards their bias K-Pop idols and groups.
5. Light sticks
A light stick is another way for fandoms to express their undying love for and towards their biased K-Pop groups. These light sticks are usually tailored and designed to represent various aspects of particular K-Pop such as their name or logo. They unify fans from around the world with the common goal of supporting their biased K-Pop groups. The light sticks are a must have, especially during concerts where their light shines giving strength to the performing K-Pop idols. The best part about this essential collectable is that the K-Pop idols also have the same light sticks as their fans, which further unifies the bond between the two.
6. Stationery
Being a K-Pop fan is not limited to during concerts or fan meetings only. Rather, enthusiasts can express their admiration in all aspects of life. In such a case, K-Pop themed stationeries are the go-to, especially for environment where K-Pop might be unpopular or other collections such as K-Pop wearables might be regarded as extreme. Some of the most popular stationery include pencils and notebooks. K-Pop stationeries gives fans the power to demonstrate their undying support for their bias idols in any setting.
What other essentials would you recommend?

Thereâs sad news to report as two actors in the Korean entertainment industry passed away.
Legendary film actress Yoon Jeong Hee, 78, passed away due to Alzheimerâs complications on January 19, 2023. Yoon and her family were living in Paris, France at the time of her death. She has been living in Paris since the 1990s where she met her husband and had her daughter.
Yoon, born Son Mi-ja, is known for the films Mist (1967), Women of the Yi Dynasty (1969), A Shamanâs Story (1972), Night Journey (1977), and Poetry (2010). Her decades-long career earned her several acting awards during her prime.
Yoonâs husband, Paik Kuh-woo, confirmed the actressâ death via a statement.
âIt is with great sadness that my wife Yoon Jeong-hee passed away around 5 p.m. Thursday (local time),â Paik said. âShe died peacefully listening to our daughter Jin-hee playing the violin. The funeral will be held in France attended by close family. Although she is no longer here with us, please remember her kind soul and passion for film.â
During her career, Yoon appeared in over 280-330 films. She was part of a âtroikaâ of popular Korean actresses that included Moon Hee and Nam Jeong-im.
“Yoon Jeong-hee was a prominent figure in Korean cinema whose commitment and passion toward acting and artistic soul inspired many younger actors. Her legacy will continue to live in us,â Culture Minister Park Bo-gyoon said.
On January 21, 2023, actor Na Chul, 36, passed away. According to reports, Na Chul died from âexacerbated health issues.â He was admitted to the hospital after his health âsuddenly deteriorated.â
Making his theatrical debut in 2010, Na Chul held a role in Anneâs Diary before shifting to film and K-Drama supporting roles. He held roles in Vincenzo, Weak Hero Class 1, Touch Your Heart, Little Women, Once Upon a Small Town, Happiness, A Superior Day, and Stranger 2. He was also set to appear Concrete Utopia, which will be released later in 2023.
âActor Na Chul, thank you for showing us what good acting is. I wanted to see more of your work. RIP,â actress and Little Women co-star Uhm Ji-won said.
Kim Go-eun, who was also Na Chulâs co-star in Little Women, called him âthe best actor everâ as well as âthe most amazing man, dad, husband, son, friend.â

2022 has ended, so itâs that time of the year where we (and everyone else) do their âyear-in-reviewâ segments.
Kcrush kicks off our year-in-review segments by rating the debuts from 2022. It should be prefaced that many K-Pop songs in recent years have the same formulas and many of the songs donât stand out like they used to do. However, itâs what you can do with the material youâve been handed.
2022âs girl group class is, with all things considered, one of the strongest debut classes in recent years. This year had several monster rookie debuts including NEWJEANS, who became the fastest girl group to earn a daesang (Asia Artist Awards, âPerformance of the Yearâ), and Le Sserafim. There are even groups from smaller companies that caught our attention, and we hope they caught your attention too!
Using an A-F scale, we ranked this yearâs reviews. Of course, we welcome you to discuss your rankings and who you liked this year!

CSR | Debut: July 27, 2022 | A2Z Entertainment
While the Girl Crush concept continues to be one of the dominating concepts in K-Pop, CSRâs innocent concept is a breath of fresh air!
For fans of early GFRIEND, Lovelyz, and April, CSR fills the void these groups left behind. The group does an innocent concept with power behind the vocals and performance. âPop? Pop!â and ââĄTiCONâ are such lovely songs that ooze with nostalgia of previous K-Pop generations. At the same time, their tracks have an early 2000s J-Pop vibe to create a unique feel that speaks to fans of both K-Pop and J-Pop.
If CSR can continue to capitalize on their nostalgia-carving path, they can carve their own niche that will help them standout in this yearâs K-Pop class.
Fifty-Fifty | Debut: November 18, 2022 | ATTRAKT
Fifty-Fiftyâs debut featured three different tracks that reflect their talents and vocal diversity. With each of the tracks released as singles from their The Fifty EP, the ATTRAKT quartet knew how to impress from the word âgo.â
âHigherâ and its mid-tempo beat shows off Fifty-Fiftyâs vocals beautifully. Each member has an opportunity to share their smooth, velvety vocals that set them apart. The deeper tones make their vocals stand out more than other groups. Meanwhile, âLovinâ Meâ is a solid track that has clear harmonies while reflecting Fifty-Fiftyâs soft side. Finally, âLog-Inâ reflects their power while allowing Fifty-Fifty to compete with a standard K-Pop dance track.
Because Fifty-Fifty debuted with a variety of songs that reflect their capabilities vocally and talent-wise, itâs clear theyâre going to be a powerhouse in 2023 if they have adequate promotions and support. We see these girls as potential rookie-of-the-year contenders!
Le Sserafim | Debut: May 22, 2022 | Source Music
Despite the bullying controversy that caused Kim Garamâs ousting from the group, Le Sserafim maintained their Monster Rookie status since their âFearlessâ debut back in May.
Le Sserafimâs strengths lie in how diverse their lead singles have been. With tracks spanning the dance-pop (âFearless,â âAntifragileâ) and R&B (âImpuritiesâ) genres, Le Sserafim offers something refreshing. Their vocals arenât as over-processed as other groups, which adds to their uniqueness. The songs have repetition, which normally would be an annoying trait, but for Le Sserafim, itâs a signature that works given their vocal color and overall presentation.
If Source continues to give Le Sserafim unique tracks, they have the potential to remain a top-tier group beyond their rookie year.
Mamadol | Debut: January 28, 2022 | Disbanded: February 4, 2022 | Mama the Idol
While Mamadol (M.M.D) was a project group born from Mama the Idol, they were an A-class group made up of former idols Kahi, Jungah, Sunye, Yang Eunji, and singers/actresses Byul and Hyun Jyuni.
While âWooAh Hipâ is a fierce track, it isnât much different from what many idol groups release today. However, since itâs a song from first- and second-generation singers showing they could still compete with todayâs young stars, âWooAh Hipâ showed that parenthood and time canât stop talent and the will to perform. This alone earns Mamadol an A!
NEWJEANS | Debut: July 22, 2022 | ADOR
With the large number of K-Pop groups debuting every year, so many groups get lost unless they have an âitâ factor. NEWJEANS is one of those groups that has âit.â Since their debut, NEWJEANS earned the love of Korean and foreign fans while racking up honors along the way including music show wins and becoming the fastest girl group to earn a Daesang at an awards show.
Like ATTRAKT and Fifty-Fifty above, ADOR was smart to release a variety of tracks for NEWJEANSâ debut. Between July 22 and August 4, NEWJEANS released the singles âAttention,â âHype Boy,â âHurt,â and âCookieâ that show off their versatility in the pop and R&B realm. Their songs are interesting in how they sound right for 2022 while recalling the 1990s and early 2000s American and Korean music scenes. Fusing the different eras together is one of the many reasons why NEWJEANS is at the top of 2022âs debut class. Beyond the sound variety and fusion, solid vocals, visuals, and quality help them stand out.
If NEWJEANS keeps on the path theyâre on, they will continue to be the group to watch as the carve their niche in K-Pop history as a fourth-generation powerhouse.
VIVIZ | Debut: February 9, 2022 | BPM Entertainment
We love that GFRIEND still lives via VIVIZ. Made up of former GFRIEND members SinB, Umji, and Eunha, VIVIZ gave us the debut we anticipated: The classic GFRIEND sound (âBop Bopâ) but with a more grown-up (âRum Pum Pumâ) and invigorating feel (âLoveadeâ).
VIVIZ earns their A-grade because of the membersâ history in the K-Pop industry. Being already established and knowing what fans want helps VIVIZ have a leg up on this yearâs debut class, which some may consider an unfair advantage. However, in a cut-throat industry, every little advantage helps.
A/B
CLASS:y | Debut: May 5, 2022 |
Formed via the survival show My Teenage Girl, seven-member group CLASS:y was one of the busiest groups in the industry this year with three mini albums, one digital single, and one Japanese single under their belt. The M25 and Universal Music Japan girl group proved to be a workhorse in the industry with their intense schedule worrying fans.
While their debut song âClassyâ isnât much of a standout due to its formulaic structure and basic âlook at meâ lyrics, âShut Down,â âZealous,â and âTick Tick BOOMâ are substantively better songs, though they still maintain a formulaic sound K-Pop fans have grown accustomed to over the years. The groupâs accessibility is one of their endearing qualities along with solid vocals. Each of the tracks have well done compositions, though it would be great to hear some variety from the group. In the coming year, it will be nice to hear a ballad or a non-dance track released as a lead single in order to really hear their potential, but CLASS:y is definitely one of the top class debuts this year!
Kep1er | Debut: January 3, 2022 |
Kep1er is a project group, so theyâre considered âshort-term,â but their debut left a mark. Kep1er has been busy with their promotions via concerts and their appearances on Queendom 2, which helped the group gain traction.
Born from Girls Planet 999, the multi-national group is a strong team. âWa Da Daâ is a fun, catchy debut song that is a massive earworm, and their subsequent releases, âUp,â âSugar Rushâ and the Japanese single âWing Wingâ also reflect the groupâs potential to be a memorable standout group thanks to their catchy, bubblegum pop flair.
While Kep1er has the potential to be an A-group, they are part of the A/B ranking due to their singles not having enough variety to truly reflect their abilities. While dance pop tracks are the standard, it would be great to hear a main single from Kep1er that is slowed down or in a different genre to truly hear how great they could be.
Lapillus | Debut: June 20, 2022 | MLD Entertainment
Lapillus debuted with a powerful concept that is suitable for the girlsâ vocals and visuals. âHit Ya!â has a great vibe with a catchy bass. Their subsequent single, âGratataâ follows suit by showcasing the same powerful vibe with catchy instrumentals paired with an appealing hook and chorus. Unfortunately, given the similarity in the songsâ powerful personalities, Lapillus could run into the problem of appearing one-note if MLD Entertainment doesnât give them a solid variety. For now, the powerful concept does work, though MLD needs to work on making sure Lapillus isnât pigeon-holed.
Lapillus had a lot of hype prior to their debut since they are Momolandâs junior. Given how MLD Entertainment has seemingly abandoned Momoland to where theyâre not as prominent as they were during the era of the mega-popular hits âBboom Bboomâ and âBaamâ and tumultuous departures of Daisy, Taeha, and Yeonwoo, itâll be interesting to see how MLD manages Lapillus and if they get the Momoland treatment later on.
ILY:1 | Debut: April 4, 2022 | FC ENM
ILY:1âs debut was under-the-radar, shameful considering âLove in Bloomâ is a delightful song.
ILY:1 is another innocent concept group with some power behind them. The multi-national group, with members that appeared on Girls Planet 999 and Nizi Project, has a perpetual spring and summer vibe about them that makes them a refreshing vitamin group. Between âLove in Bloomâ and âQue Sera Sera,â ILY:1 leaves behind good feelings.
For being from a newly established company, their MVs have a pleasant production quality that doesnât scream âsmall company group,â which works to ILY:1âs advantage. However, ILY:1 didnât have a significant amount of advertising or promotion, which could be a disadvantage moving forward. If promoted right, ILY:1 can be a memorable group.
IRRIS | Debut: July 6, 2022 |Justice Records & Mellow Entertainment
IRRIS is a rebranding of the former group REDSQUARE. The rebrand turned out to be a great decision because IRRIS is fresh group with charisma and sweetness. While IRRISâ debut track âWanna Knowâ shows off their sultry side and range, their second track âStay With Meâ reflects their personalities and dance abilities. However, âBye Byeâ might be my favorite of their three releases because the vocals hit deep. âBye Byeâ has a little extra something I canât put my finger on that made IRRIS one of best female rookie groups this year. Justice Records and Mellow Entertainment have something amazing in IRRIS, and they really need to promote them because they are a group we shouldnât lose. Their criminally low YouTube views need boosted, so please check IRRIS out!
Queenz Eye | Debut: October 24, 2022 | Big Mountain Entertainment
Queenz Eye provided an under-the-radar debut. Visually and vocally, Queenz Eye stands out. Their song âYummy Yummyâ is a unique banger that shows off the six-member groupâs vocals and rap abilities well. The song might not catch a lot of people at first, but it gets better with each listen to where itâs a perfect song for any playlist. âYummy Yummyâ is a solid debut song, and itâs one that probably would have taken off if given to a group from a more well-known company.
Their small-group-from-a-small-company marking unfortunately works against them. There wasnât a lot of advertising for Queenz Eye, so their debut may have been missed if not for some music show performances, on which they performed well.
Honestly, they should have more attention because Queenz Eyes has great potential and should be a group to watch.
Â
WSG Wannabe | Debut: July 9, 2022 | Disbanded: August 6, 2022 | Hangout with Yoo
As a project group formed on Hangout with Yoo, WSG Wannabe was a temporary group consisting of Navi, HYNN, Kwon Jin Ah, Jung Ji So, Uhm Ji Yoon, Soyeon, SOLE, Jo Hyun Ah, Park Jin Joo, Kota, Lee Bo Ram, and Yoon Eun Hye.
Under the ballad and R&B umbrella, WSG Wannabe released five digital singles including âOur Seasonâ and âWhen I Close My Eyes.â The released songs were well-arranged and utilized the membersâ voices beautifully. Each member is a powerhouse vocal, but they maintained a softness that made each release appealing.
The only issue with WSG Wannabe is international audiences donât give ballad tracks as much attention as they should. While Korean audiences showed love to the group and songs, the tracks didnât catch on internationally. Plus, the songs werenât promoted enough. WSG Wannabe should have had a longer promotion period so the women had a chance to shine more, but it wasnât meant to be.

Daisy | Debut: July 8, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Daisy is the 15th group to debut under Rainbow E&Mâs Future Idol Asia project. Their debut track âTropical Loveâ is a feel-good summer tune thatâs cheerful and fresh. The vocals are clear and solid for this group, and the song fit them perfectly. While Rainbow E&Mâs video quality isnât the best, the filters, setting, and dance work for the song and group. What is particularly enjoyable about âTropical Loveâ is that it sounds like a song a more established group or a group from a larger company might perform and have success with, which is also part of the issue: This song is actually too enjoyable to be as underrated as it is.
Daisy is one of the better groups from Rainbow E&M. They sound more polished compared to some of the other groups, so itâll be great to see where they go moving forward!
Â
Fresh | Debut: March 31, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
In 2022, Rainbow E&M debuted several groups under the Future Idol Asia project. Fresh is one of those groups. Their debut single, âParty,â is cute and bouncy with some moments that do get stuck in the listenerâs head.
Another vitalizing element about Fresh is how the group features singers of different body shapes. In an industry where everyone has to be a specific weight, itâs invigorating to see different bodies represented, so this may help fans get into the group if they can connect with a member that looks like them.
However, the editing for the MV is awkward and could have been better to reflect the membersâ personalities. The songâs beat and chorus suggest a happy, sunny MV with charm and charisma, but filming in different rooms with a dance that looks like everyone is just going through the motions doesnât help a viewer connect to the group. Rainbow E&M appears they may be biting off more than they can chew by debuting so many Future Idol Asia groups, and this will be more evident as we go continue through this list.
Me:Us | Debut: April 12, 2022 | A Flat Entertainment
9MUSESâ Hyuna and Hyemi decided to bless us by making a comeback as a duo. With their debut song âMemories,â Me:Us shows off their soft side with smooth, carefree vocals. Being seasoned professionals in the business, itâs great to hear members from groups older generations grew up with or started their K-Pop journey with still find success in the industry.
Now under A Flat Entertainment, Hyuna and Hyemiâs reemergence as Me:Us is mostly positive. âMemoriesâ is a safe choice for a debut as it is a ballad, but it highlights their sweet vocals beautifully, especially at the beginning of the song. Toward the end, though, the song starts to rely on flat, off-key notes and lines that are yelled instead of sung, taking away from the listening enjoyment.
Their subsequent 2022 singles âWindâ and âNothingâs Changedâ do a better job at highlighting their vocal colors, especially âWind,â which, while on the thinner side vocally, has a nostalgia-filled sound that provides a sweet feel to a summer day. âWindâ and âNothingâs Changedâ help Me:Us in ranking, especially since the arrangement and vocal collapse in âMemoriesâ takes away from the joy of a mini-9MUSES reunion.
Mimirose | Debut: September 16, 2022 |YES IN Entertainment & Totalset Entertainment
The five-member group debuted in September 2022 with âRoseâ and the single album âAwesome.â
âRoseâ is a cool, catchy song that combines the K-Pop sound with a fusion of South Asian beats. The song does a nice job showing off the girlsâ abilities while reflecting a fun, powerful side. The MV does well highlighting the girlsâ personalities, too. The whole package suggests Mimiirose can be a long-haul group if their management handles them well.
However, their companies did flub their debut, so the management aspect is going to be a wildcard for Mimiirose moving forward. When the group debuted, the companies didnât load the groupâs full MV at first, then they deleted the short version and replaced it with a long version, hurting the girlsâ YouTube count. Hopefully the companies will get it together to help Mimiirose be successful.
P.O.A | Debut: September 21, 2022| HANDMADE & Korea Music Group
The project group P.O.A was formed by Anatainer World Korea – 2022 Pageant as part of their People On Air media campaign. Originally meant to be a six-member group, P.O.A debuted with five members with âOn Air.â
âOn Airâ is a stand-out debut because of its bright personality, but it does lack a clear identity as the composition is messy. At the beginning of the song, Yubeenâs rap has hints of HyunA and 4Minute coming through before the song shifts to a modern K-Pop track before pivoting again at the chorus to have an early 2010s K-Pop sound. The style blending does give âOn Airâ a unique sound, but since it does combine too many elements, it comes across as sloppy. However, these awkward elements are less noticeable the more you listen to the song.
UiU |Debut: July 11, 2022 | Untact Idol Unit by Hanyang University
Despite the low budget appearance, UiUâs visuals, style, and debut song âStarlitâ are strong. âStarlitâ is a song that doesnât particularly stand out in this K-Pop era, but it feels like something that would have been mildly successful between 2011-2013. The song just feels so right in ways that canât be explained, and thatâs probably due to the nostalgia-factor. This song feels so vintage in a way that tugs at my K-Pop-loving heart.
However, UiU is a project group and isnât really promoted, which is why they are further down on the list. They should be, because âStarlitâ is a debut track that should have more attention.
We;Na | Debut: September 5, 2022 |Shine E&M
We;Naâs debut track âLike Psychoâ is another song that takes the listener back to the early 2010s. The song is so bright and cheery, and We;Na perform it with adorable flair. Since its release, âLike Psychoâ earned a lot of play time on my personal Spotify. The concept and the joy We;Na exudes works for them.
What worked against We;Na is their company not teasing or promoting them enough. This is a group that should have more attention, but the minimal advertising for the group didnât help them at all. Hopefully, 2023 will mean they will get more traction!
B/C
1CHU |Debut: July 12, 2022 | Moai Entertainment
The duo 1CHU is Hey Girlsâ first sub-unit made up of Chaerin and Sulhee.
Moai Entertainment was smart to debut 1CHU with the summer song âOasis.â Summer tracks perform well both domestically and internationally because fans love having tracks with a nostalgic, fun vibe. âOasisâ has both elements as it is an enjoyable, throwback song. The catchy beat and chorus tickle the imagination and draw listeners to beaches, sunsets, and hanging out with friends. 1CHU a nice summer mood booster with this song thanks to their lively vocals and effervescence.
What holds 1CHU back is the minimal promotions they received for the song.
Another hang-up is the pronunciation of âoasis,â which seems to be a nitpicky thing considering how this is an English word instead of a Korean one. However, the pronunciation of âoasisâ as âoh-ah-sisâ over âoh-ay-sisâ feels off even though it fits the song. However, the bubbly nature of the track saves the song.

Acid Angel from Asia | Debut: October 22, 2022 | Disbanded: November 16, 2022 (disputed) | MODHAUS
The sub-unit of rookie girl group TripleS, Acid Angel from Asia (TripleS AAA), is the first of two sub-units from the group, the other being +(KR)ystal Eyes. The sub-unitsâ members were voted on by Cosmo App users.
Acid Angel from Asia is an unfortunate name for the group (where Iâm from, colloquially, âAcid Angelâ refers to LSD or a meth/acid/PCP mix), but it is memorable. Unfortunately, their single âGenerationââwhile a solid debut that features solid vocals, rich tones, and cool since it doesnât have a rap breakâwasnât memorable. While it was different from the usual dance tracks many groups have, the song is too one-note and, albeit, quiet to where itâs more of a background tune instead of one thatâs easy to recall. Itâs just there, existing as simple wallpaper in the K-Pop sphere. If the song was a bit livelier instead of one-note, this could have been a much better debut track.
However, the criticisms about the song and group name arenât against the group themselves. They earn a B/C rating because TripleS AAA has consistent vocalists that should be utilized. Hopefully, their vocals, whether in TripleS or if TripleS AAA make a comeback, will be utilized better.
Apink CHOBOM | Debut: July 12, 2022 | IST Entertainment
Apink CHOBOM is Apinkâs second subunit made up of Chorong and Bomi. Their debut song âCopycatâ isnât a memorable song, but it is cute with some Doja Cat hints mixed in to make it both K-Pop and Western-sounding. âCopycatâ highlights their sweet vocals nicely, but the song is a bit boring. Itâs a nice background song, but it doesnât reach out and grab the listener. It maintains the same beat pretty much throughout the song until it gets to the bridge where there is a bit of a change vocally and beat-wise.
The MV is what makes this debut better than it is. The visuals are fun and pay homage to TWICE, Crayon Pop/Strawberry Milk, and Orange Caramel among other groups, so itâs fun to watch just to see the different Easter eggs planted throughout the video. Overall, though, Bomi and Chorong deserved something better for their debut.
Â
EUNOAI | Debut: October 8, 2022 | G1 Creative
EUNOAI is a seven-member kids group formed by Shine Kids Dance & Vocal Academy. Their debut track âYou Know Iâ has its ups and downs, but it gets credit for its early-2000s J-Pop vibe infused with some GFRIEND flavor. Since the group is made up of kids, the vocals arenât perfect, but the mix of older and younger children is what gives âYou Know Iâ the J-Pop-meets-innocent-concept-K-Pop fusion that is utterly enjoyable.
It’ll be great to see how this group comes along. Seeing as they are a project group, they may not be a long-term group. As with any kids group, there is a worry they may be exploited in some way. Hopefully, this wonât be the case.
Girlsâ World | Debut: June 20, 2022 | Liz Entertainment
What do you get when you throw early SNSD, APINK, M.I.L.K, and GFRIEND in a blender? Apparently, you get Girlsâ World. From the opening notes of their debut track âRapunzel,â you can hear a little bit of âInto the New World,â which will either make SONES feel nostalgic or miffed depending on their mood.
Throwback, bright-vibe K-Pop is always a win in my book, especially if itâs a group that can recall the early and late 2000s and early 2010s all at the same time. The feel-good vibes are everywhere with âRapunzel,â and the Girlsâ World members are adorable. While they have everything that feels right about K-Pop, itâs also what holds them back slightly. âRapunzelâ does feel like it samples a lot from past K-Pop girl groups including SNSD, so there might be too much familiarity here. However, given a chance to grow and come into their own, they could be a breath of fresh air.
Â
H1-Key | Debut: January 5, 2022 | GLG & Sony Music
H1-Key debuted in January 2022 with âAthletic Girl.â
The Grandline Entertainment quartet has a decent debut song in âAthletic Girl,â but it isnât memorable. Former member Sitala has some solid rap lines, so this is a positive attribute to the song. Overall, the track is one-note without anything really âcatchingâ that would cause a listener to take notice. With a title like âAthletic Girl,â the initial impression is that the song would go harder than it does. The track lacked energy and power, which is why H1-Key is on the B/C cusp.
H1-Key does have some great visuals, and the vocals are stable, which puts them on the B-side of the grading cusp. They have room to grow, and their recent 2023 comeback, âRose Blossomâ does show off their vocals better, though Sitalaâs voice is missing (she left due to âpersonal reasonsâ). The group will find their power and voice overtime if theyâre given material that will capitalize on their vocals.
Â
PCDM | Debut: August 13, 2022 |KEM Entertainment
PCDM is made up of former I.C.E members Kimmi and Da Hye. The KEM Entertainment duo debuted August 2022 with âOh My God,â a song that is upbeat with a rhythm that may encourage the listener to get up to dance. Technically, this song was released in 2021 when PCDM was still I.C.E, but since Kimmi wrote, composed, and arranged the song, PCDM was able to use it when I.C.Eâs contracts ended. âThatâs It,â PCDMâs second single, is also fairly catchy, though âOh My Godâ has the edge in terms of it being more memorable and powerful. The production quality is there for both songs, but they definitely deserve MVs that reflect their vibes. That aside, if Kimmi continues to produce music, PCDM may be able to develop a solid fanbase.
Rush | Debut: May 31, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Rush has ten talented members that are not shaped like your typical idols! Itâll be mentioned a few times on this list, but Rainbow E&M really should be commended for having artists of different shapes and sizes. Itâs so great to see artists that are not all the same size, so I hope Rainbow E&M starts a trend where groups will have members of varying body types instead of embracing diet culture and making sure all of their artists are all on the smaller side.
Rushâs âHate Youâ is another solid debut that recalls the early 2010s. Vocals are on-point and the song is pretty enjoyable. The girls do a great job showing personality in the MV, so itâs clear they enjoy the song and the MV process. This makes a difference! Compared to some other Rainbow E&M groups, Rush has a spark that will carry them far.
The video quality needs some work though. There are scenes where the camera person can be seen reflected in the glass. There are also moments where Rush members do look at each other to prevent bumping into each other during the dance, so there is polishing that needs to take place. However, this is a great start!
Â
Winny | Debut: October 14, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Winny is the 21st debut under the Future Idol Asia project. While Iâm not of fan of Rainbow E&Mâs video format overall, it actually works for Winnyâs âLike a Star.â The soft filters and use of pink helps to make this song extra sweet, light, and fresh. For an October release, âLike a Starâ feels like a gentle spring breeze.
Winny is promising group from Rainbow E&M. This group stands out because they seem a bit more lively than some other Rainbow E&M groups, and they have some charm and charisma. Their vocals carry âLike a Starâ well and make the song enjoyable. The song is youthful without feeling overly childlike. There are points where the tune could use some oomph, especially in the chorus, but itâs an easy listen either way.
C
ARTBEAT | Debut: November 16, 2022 | AB Creative
ARTBEAT has plenty of potential thanks to their pleasing vocals and visuals. While the song has an upbeat tone, ARTBEATâs vocals are calming, fitting for a debut track called âMagicâ since âupbeatâ and âcalmingâ donât usually pair well.
Unfortunately, the songâs composition is sloppy. There are three tempo and mood changes in the song, so âMagicâ has a bit of an identity crisis. The composition shifts feel awkward while also feeling appropriate, so itâs a strange song. If the beat changes werenât included, âMagicâ would feel dull and flat. This song uses a bit of sorcery to make it work!
CocoaNButter | Debut: October 6, 2022 | MLD Entertainment
Initially formed as a dance team in 2018, CocoaNButter made their musical debut in 2022 with âMi Deh Yah.â Vocally, CocoaNButter are powerful and intimidating in a good way. The track has a great beat, though some have called out the group for appropriation for using African, Caribbean, Jamaican styling and music. Even the rapper featured in the track, KOONTA, faced criticism since his name, if spelled differently, is a derogatory term.
Speaking of KOONTA, his addition ruins the song. His rap wasnât necessary and didnât fit with a track that has intensity. Without his rap, âMi Deh Yahâ would have been a better debut.
Â
D.S.tar | Debut: February 10, 2022 | S.T.S Entertainment
D.S.tar is a four-member project group. The childrenâs group is made up of cast members from Smile Kids TV.
Their debut track âDancing Shoesâ is enjoyable, which is weird considering how Iâm an adult, but the song is an earworm. Seriously, the song is cute and has a J-Pop vibe to it that made me feel nostalgic. âDancing Shoesâ has an unexplainable energy that just makes me happy. For D.S.tar being made up of young kids, there is a lot of potential in their vocals, so we might be seeing Lee Sooyeon, Lee Jin, Kim Harin, and Lee Jiyoung in the future if the industry doesnât treat them poorly, but I already see issues in the way theyâre handled.
The video for âDancing Shoesâ has some cute, magical elements, but the kids wear outfits suitable for creepy child pageants Ă la Toddlers in Tiaras, and the dancing is a bit mature for children. For their second single, âKitten,â the concept is more age-appropriate. The âDancing Shoesâ video did receive backlash prior to the YouTube comments being removed, so perhaps S.T.S Entertainment took the feedback and shifted their strategy.
Overall, D.S.tar has enjoyable songs, and for an adult to find enjoyment in them, thatâs saying a lot.
FAINIT | Debut: June 13, 2022 | Disbanded: July 8, 2022 | Fainit Company
What a shame FAINIT was so short-lived! âKilling Meâ is a pretty solid debut, though it wasnât flawless. The song is really catchy, and FAINIT had unique vocals, though the âkilling me, killing meâ refrain got a little grating after a while. While the line didnât detract from the songâs enjoyment, depending on the listenerâs mood, it does stick out and feels awkward at times.
FAINIT disbanded less than a month after they debuted. Jinseo opted to train as an actress, while Liha, Meanu, Seoa, and Idam became trainees at Chrome Entertainment.
GOT the Beat | Debut: January 2, 2022 | SM Entertainment
Got the Beat is absolutely STACKED. Comprised of BoA, Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Seulgi, Wendy, Karina, and Winter, the lineup of capable vocalists from different eras is hard to beat. Itâs too bad âStep Backâ doesnât utilize their vocals abilities. âStep Backâ is over-processed and messes with the membersâ vocals to where they all sound too much alike and singing out of their ranges. The song could have been much better if SM Entertainment kept the membersâ vocals more natural to reflect more tone and color. At points, the vocals sound almost screechy. The opening of the song is fire, but it makes the song seem like itâs going to be better than it is. The visuals and dance are on-point.
Â
Lalagirls | Debut: January 1, 2022 | Soonsu Dance Company
Lalagirls is an interesting group! This three-member trot group has the Soonsu Dance Company CEO as a member, so Lalagirls is definitely unique in that manner!
Trot is a fun genre, so having a trot group debut with this yearâs debut class is a pleasant surprise. Their vibe also fulfills a niche left behind by Orange Caramel, so this another positive trait Lalagirls have.
Their debut track âDimwitâ is fun and one that can easily be listened to repeat. Itâs hard to not dance along with the beat. The women have wonderful voices that have a delightful lower tone that mixes well with the song. Musically, the debut track is on-point!
Given the beat and subject matter of the song, it would have been better to have an MV that is brighter and bursting with color. The muted shades took away from the overall package, but the song is still a bop nonetheless!
Â
Peach A! | Debut: October 8, 2022: Better Company & KNJ Music
Originally know as PEACHDAY, Peach A! debuted as a four-member group with âRebreathâ back in October. âRebreathâ is a cool dance track that has some disco elements, making it an easily likeable song. Peach A! has deeper, huskier vocals, which is invigorating! The more mature vocals give Peach A! a memorable edge.
Like a few other groups listed, lacking promotions keeps Peach A! down on the list. The group has low views which could negatively impact them in the long run. Itâll be great to see how their vocals are utilized moving forward if their companies continue to build on their skills.
Pretty | Debut: April 20, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
âDear U,â Prettyâs debut track, is another throwback-style track. While Pretty is made up of young teens, they do a nice job with this song that fulfills an early 2000s K-Pop/J-Pop vibe. The track has refreshing accents of spring that make it a track worth hearing.
Pretty does a good job with the song. The vocals do need some refining, but they are kids, so it is great to not hear over-processed vocals in this case. Even so, some minor refinements could have made this song really pop!
Red Balm | Debut: July 15, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Red Balmâs debut single âSwipeâ features some pleasing rap parts, catchy music, and is mildly addicting. The song is composed well for the most part, so it does feel like a track a more established group might have. However, itâs not the most memorable of songs, so when it goes off, a listener doesnât really notice it ended.
Red Balm does have plenty of positives in their favor. While nitpicky, one of the criticisms present is how âSwipeâ is pronounced âswy,â thus changing the meaning of the song (âswyâ is a gambling game, which doesnât seem to be the songâs theme).
Â
Stars | Debut: November 18, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Stars is a teen group part of the Future Idol Asia project from Rainbow E&M. They debuted with the song âWith You,â which is a decent song if it werenât for the awkward dance break. The girls can really sing! They have a bright vocal energy that has a bit of a veteran tone, so thatâs a pleasant surprise.
While the song and vocals check out, the girls do lack charisma. The song is an upbeat one, but the MV doesnât reflect the bubbliness the song presents. The song features a dance that matches the beatâs energy, but the facial expressions and overall actions featured in the MV feel lackluster. If Stars turn up the energy, the potential is there to continually improve.
Â
C/D
Amber | Debut: December 23, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Amber is another Future Idol Asia group from Rainbow E&M. This teen groupâs debut song is âBaby Baby,â a song that tries to be likeable but the nasally vocals are a distraction. Unfortunately, âBaby Babyâ doesnât have a lot to it to make it stand out, so it just fades into the background. Itâs not a bad song, but thereâs nothing there to keep a listener engaged.
Amber at least got a different set to perform in, and it matched the song well. Dance and acting-wise, Amber comes across as genuine. Their smiles and interactions feel more authentic, so their ability to connect with viewers helps them in the ranking.
Â
Black Rose | Debut: August 26, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Black Rose is an 11-member teen group from⌠you guessed it! Rainbow E&M.
Black Rose isnât bad, and the direction with this group seems promising. Black Rose is a bit edgier, and that zing hides some of the vocal flaws that may exist. Like other Rainbow E&M groups on this list, production quality is what takes Black Rose down a few notches with their âTear It Outâ debut. The rap parts and overall vocals are pretty good, though the lacking chorus does impact the overall song.
Black Rose is the 18th group from Rainbow E&M. At this point, someone should tell Rainbow E&M that just because they can debut a high number of groups it doesnât mean they should. Having fewer groups they can actually train and develop may be better in the long run.
BLAZE | Debut: January 28, 2022 | Space Music Entertainment
BLAZEâs debut already starts in a hole since they donât have an MV for their track âFunny Gameâ and the official audio has been removed from YouTube. All they have available is a dance practice video that lacks finesse. The dance is essentially phoned in as it features minimal effort. What are you thinking here, Space Music Entertainment? Given the amount of effort, itâs doubtful BLAZE will last long in the industry.
Thatâs not saying itâs all bad because the song itself saves BLAZE from being ranked lower. The song is adequate and sounds more fitting for 2010-2013. BLAZE have good vocals, so for their company to basically screw them over is a travesty.
Â
ENVIDIA | Debut: August 5, 2022 | BlueMoon Entertainment
ENVIDIA is MAKAMAKAâs first sub-unit. Their debut song, âWho Am I?â, is classified as Hip-Hop, but itâs the light side of Hip-Hop. The catchy chorus is cute, and itâs hard to avoid moving along to the beat. The MV is also a lower-budget one, but it suits the song. âWho Am I?â doesnât have a lot of interesting elements, though. It stays on the same beat and tempo pretty much throughout the song. If it had some layers, tempo changes, and perhaps a bridge that added depth to the song, âWho Am I?â and ENVIDIA could have been graded slightly higher.
Â
Flush | Debut: August 22, 2022 | Luminant Entertainment
Flush is such an unfortunate name for a group! How many people are going to think of colors or âflushed cheeksâ versus the âflushâ related to toilets?
Flushâs debut âTNGâ (Thereâs No God) isnât a bad song, but it isnât great. The song starts off strong with some solid vocals. However, as the song moves toward the end, it falls apart. In the last minute or so, the vocals lose refinement and the âthereâs no Godâ portion that closes the song ruins the overall decency of the track. This element combined with the chorus could have had more spark to it knocks the song rating down.
The fact the song focuses on the lines âthereâs no God,â there is an expectation for it to be a rock or metal song. Itâs disappointment this isnât the case because it would have been much cooler.
NMIXX | Debut: February 22, 2022 | JYP Entertainment
For a talented group of girls from a Big Three company, NMIXXâs music is⌠something else.
âO.O,â NMIXXâs debut track, is a mess. This song is like several songs that were left on the cutting room floor, spliced together, and JYP released it hoping it would work. The pros are that NMIXX has some good vocalists and visuals, but they couldnât save âO.Oâ from being a junk song. Along with nonsense utterances, the vocals are drowned out by the music, product placement (Coke Zero), and a sloppy composition. This track is not a positive introduction to this group even though a lot of fans of the group have said the song grew on them overtime.
NMIXXâs subsequent release âDiceâ still has a sloppy composition and doesnât reflect NMIXXâs vocal abilities as well as âO.Oâ surprisingly did. Like âO.O,â the music overpowers the vocals, so a balance between music and singing needs to be improved. While the music makes NMIXX to stand out, right now, the messy songs arenât helping them stand out in a positive way.
Shadow | Debut: March 4, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Shadowâs debut song âDreamâ had a lot of potential to be a catchy mid-ranked song. The issue with the song is that it features a chorus and bridge that lack power due to thin, reedy vocals and an âoh ah ohâ lyric that loses energy as the song progresses.
Shadow does do an alright job with the material. They have some charisma that can carry them. The Shadow team does have sparks of joy and look like they are having fun, helping them overcome lacking production.
Â
D
Bubble | Debut: August 12, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Bubbleâs debut track âBaby Dreamâ is a nice, sweet song, so fans of a more innocent should get enjoyment out of this track. The seven-member group has cute vocals, which is expected from a child group.
What dings Bubble is the songâs production quality. Some of the lines are too muted to be heard while the louder parts need some smoothing out. The chorus is catchy though. If the song had higher production quality, this song really could have stood out.
Â
D-Art | Debut: January 10, 2022 | DIMA K-Pop Season 1, Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts
D-Art is a four-member group from DIMA K-Pop Season 1. In January 2022, they released their debut single âCinderella.â
âCinderellaâ starts off strong with a solid rap and individual vocals that show the group has talent. However, the chorus and bridge are a mess. The singing is off-key and pitchy with unequal volume that makes the song jarring and hard on the ears. The overall composition is also untidy without clear direction. At times, the song sounds like a banger, but mostly, it feels like something suitable for Halloween. The song takes away from any skill D-Art may have, which is a shame.
Â
Daystar | Debut: September 30, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
âViva La Vidaâ isnât a great song, but Daystar does somehow manage to save it at some points. The earn some bonus points for making the song somehow work.
At this point, it should be mentioned Rainbow E&M is mostly known for managing children, so this could be why their music produced for artists in their teens and older feels so off. âViva La Vidaâ feels like the wrong song for Daystar. While the group looks like they could have energy, the song didnât allow them to show it off. With a name like âViva La Vida,â energy and a party atmosphere should have been expected, but we didnât get that. Instead, the group is gifted a flat song and a basic video that featured awkward dancing, uncomfortable facial expressions, and a set that made it look like Daystar had to dance for their lives in order to escape captivity.
Memoria | Debut: October 28, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Usually, a song titled âBling Blingâ has a lot of sparkle and cheeriness, but Memoriaâs debut track was neither sparkly nor cheery. Paired with the MV, thereâs something a bit unsettling about the whole package here.
The R&B tempo paired with the poppy chorus could have worked, but the composition was lackluster and amateurish. Combined with an MV that featured Memoria seemingly just going through the motions and barely showing emotion, there was nothing that made the song stand out. âBling Blingâ is one of those songs where you listen to it but it doesnât penetrate that you listened to it and itâs just done without any fanfare. The whole vibe was just weird.
NTORE | Debut: March 27, 2022 | To Hermitage
NTORE is a live group from To Hermitage. They are a Korean group patterned after Japanese girl groups and perform exclusively at live events. This is an endearing quality, especially for those of us who do love K-Pop and J-Pop.
NTORE gets a ton of credit for performing live. Their songs are also catchy and feel like they should be anime themes. Without that in mind, NTOREâs vocals arenât the strongest. At times theyâre too flat or too nasally, and that gets distracting. But, they are a live group and not a product of the K-Pop Machine, so that makes what theyâre doing all the more impressive.
D/F
Silhouette | Debut: January 11, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
This is another Rainbow E&M group released thanks to the Future Idol Asia project. Their single, âSiren,â has some interesting moments where it sounds like the potential is there, but the song and overall production just doesnât quite reach a star-worthy level.
An unrefined style can be endearing at times, and that is the case here when âSirenâ is listened to once or twice. However, with multiple listens, the style makes this a sad musical representation that almost comes across as a mockery of the groupâs dreams. Throw in the awkward video featuring the girls staring into the camera and awkwardly posing, the overall product just doesnât reflect the groupâs abilities.
Â
Spirit | Debut: September 16, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
Rainbow E&Mâs production quality with each of their Future Idol Asia groups is so wildly inconsistent. There are a few groups that show potential, and there are others that donât quite have âit,â but this is not the fault of the members they debuted. This is the fault of a company trying too hard to force artists into the K-Pop pipeline without enough training and refinement, so their choices reflect badly on a group.
With the above considered, âBroom Broom,â Spiritâs debut song, is an ear-bleeder. There are hints that suggest the song could have been okay. Unfortunately, the vocals are so off-key and pitchy the song couldnât be saved. Perhaps this is all down to arrangement, but it seems no one at the company listened to the song post-recording to hear it provide Spirit a disservice to their potential careers. It was like the guy who wrote and produced Rebecca Blackâs âFridayâ hijacked the studio and told these girls the song was gold. Hopefully that means Spirit can bounce back like Rebecca Black did to have good songs released that can reflect any talent they may have.
âBroom Broomâ aside, Spirit is a group that has visual potential. Like Fresh and other Rainbow E&M groups, Spirit also features singers of various body types, so there is a relatability factor that many young girls will like. Letâs just hope Rainbow E&M pulls it together to give these girls a chance at reaching their idol dreams.
Â
With Me | Debut: February 11, 2022 | Rainbow E&M
With Me debuted with “ě˛ě˛í ë¤ę°ě ě¤ë.” While listening to the track, it feels necessary to channel the old Verizon âcan you hear me now?â catchphrase. The arrangement and sound mixing are so quiet! Even with the volume turned up to max levels, the song is too soft. Perhaps this is for the best because the vocals here arenât the best. Like Spirit, the vocals are pitchy and scratchy at times, so they quash any enjoyment that may exist with the track. Even with the aforementioned elements considered, this song has potential to be sweet and good, so itâs really angering that it has such poor production quality.
For the MV, With Me, like other Rainbow E&M groups, performs in a room. In their case, the MV, lighting, and visuals do work for the song and group, so that was a positive.

Givenchy is pleased to announce the appointment of Taeyang as 2023 global ambassador.
Taeyang a music pioneer and the star of the record-breaking South Korean mega boy band Big Bang, has joined the house’s family as its newest brand ambassador, becoming the first male South Korean star to take on that role.
“Taeyang is an inspiring artist – a music pioneer with an authentic, barrier-breaking way of expressing his own personal style, which fits perfectly with today’s Givenchy aesthetic,” said Matthew M. Williams, Creative Director of Givenchy.
Taeyang, a stage name meaning “Sun” in Korean, is a household name in his home country and a global superstar. ‘My Demon’ is a work that depicts the romance between Do-hee Do, the heiress of a conglomerate who is encompassed by enemies from all sides, and the Gu-won Jung, a demon who lost his ability overnight. He can be described as a warm iced coffee-like man who is superior to humans in every way, but after losing his ability, he plans to work with Kim Yoo-jung (Do Do-hee) to regain his lost ability. In the process, the romance between the two is expected to cause excitement in viewers. Considering the visual chemistry of the unusual combination, expectations are already rising.
It is known that Song Kang and Kim Yu-jung were offered the roles of Jeong Gu-won and Do Do-hee, respectively.
The air schedule of ‘My Demon’ is undecided. The script is written by writer Choi A-il, who co-wrote the drama ‘Mister Queen’.
Meanwhile, Song Kang spent a busy time filming season 2 and season 3 of Netflix’s original ‘Sweet Home’. Following this, in February, he holds his first Asian fan meeting to meet his fans. Kim Yoo-jung will be on the stage of the play ‘Shakespeare in Love’, which premieres on the 28th.
