Start Now! Hello. We are Teen Top, an emotional teen pop band.
Teen Top captivates many people with their dazzling performances and powerful vocals, receiving love from fans both domestically and internationally through hit songs like “Rocking,” “No More Perfume On You,” and “Crazy.” They are a four-member (Chunji, Niel, Ricky, Changjo) boy group under the T.O.P Media agency that debuted on July 10, 2010. At the time of their debut, the average age of the members was only 16.3 years old, earning them the title of the youngest boy group. As of 2023, they are a 14-year active idol group with a relatively young age range compared to their years of experience. They have never halted their activities since their debut, making them a 14-year active group.

You are about to make a comeback in July. Can you give me a spoiler on what songs will be included in the album and what kind of image you will show?
Chunji: We made efforts to fully capture Teen Top’s colors in this album as well. Especially this time, Teen Top’s beloved song “ėź° ģėė¼ģ (Missing You)” selected by the fans will be included as the 2023 version. All the members are passionately preparing for the album, so please look forward to it.
Niel: I believe that the symbol of Teen Top is energy and performance. I think many people are eagerly anticipating this part of us. Through our new song, we plan to show everyone a song that can be enjoyed and a powerful performance that remains unchanged.
How did you prepare for the new music coming out? For example, how did you come up with the concept and feel?
Ricky: I think we can say that this album showcases Teen Top’s distinctive energy. It’s a perfect song for July when the weather starts to get hotter. I guarantee that you’ll enjoy listening to it while driving or working out. As we’re preparing diligently, I hope this summer becomes Teen Top’s season.
Changjo: This album was created through a lot of communication among the members and the company. All the members, including myself, were actively involved in every detail, from discussing the direction of the album to the smallest aspects. We paid attention not only to the songs but also to the performance aspect, and we are looking forward to delivering a great stage.
You are resuming your activities after a long hiatus of 3 years. What are the differences between TEEN TOP 3 years ago and now?Ā
Niel: The biggest change, in my opinion, is that the members who were in their 20s have now entered their 30s, while the youngest members are approaching their late 20s. However, our passion and desire for the stage remain unchanged, regardless of age. I think about how we can come back to our fans with good music and performances every day.
Ricky: With some of the members entering their 30s, I think we can show a more mature side of Teen Top. While we were just cheerful and upbeat when we were young, now all of us have become respectable adults. It would be great if people could recognize this transformation.
Can you tell me an episode of your military life? What was the hardest part and what was the best part?Ā
Chunji: It was challenging for me to feel less free and restricted compared to society. After becoming an adult, it felt awkward to return to group life after freely trying out things I wanted to do. However, having a more disciplined lifestyle has brought about significant changes in me. During our active years, schedules often caused day and night to switch frequently. Going to the military and living a more disciplined life has helped improve both my physical and mental health.
Ricky: Training camp life was a bit challenging for me. Initially, it felt unfamiliar to eat, sleep, and live with people I had just met. However, during my military service, I had the opportunity to meet various people and gain new experiences that I wouldn’t have had in society. It was a time of learning and acquiring valuable lessons.
Do you have any plans to perform for overseas fans after your comeback? And if you have a specific country you want to have a concert, which one is it?Ā
Niel: We are still in ongoing discussions to meet many international fans. Actually, I want to visit every country we have been to. I want to have time to repay the love and support from fans who show their love for Teen Top by visiting as many countries as possible.
Changjo: We are already preparing for performances and various events starting with Macau. Due to COVID-19 and military service, we couldn’t meet fans actively. But with this opportunity, we want to meet many fans. We are considering what fans will like, so please wait a little longer.
You have gained attention again with some of the famous songs as āthe songs to listen to aloneā. And you recently announced to perform one of the previously famous songs “Missing You” through the poll. What is your favorite TEEN TOP song that you choose?Ā
Chunji: My favorite Teen Top song is “ģ„ėģė (Rocking).” I think the melody itself is exciting and it best represents Teen Top’s identity.
Niel: I would like to choose the ballad song “ź°ģ§ė§ (Please, don’t go).” When people think of Teen Top, they often think of intense and fast-paced songs. I hope you give this song a listen as it allows you to glimpse Teen Top’s emotional side.
Ricky: My favorite song is “ģ°ė¦° 문ģ ģģ“ (I’m Sorry).” Even now, it’s a really sophisticated song that never gets old. We didn’t perform “ģ°ė¦° 문ģ ģģ“ (I’m Sorry)” on stage as much, so it’s a song that I feel a bit regretful about. I hope many people give it a listen.
Changjo: I would recommend “ė¹ ź·øģ¹ ė°¤ (That Night).” It’s a song I produced. It’s a great song to listen to these days when it’s raining a lot. The melody is easy to sing along to, so once you hear it, you’ll find yourself humming along.
As the idol who has led the popularity of K-pop, what do you think is the golden age of K-pop in the history from the 1990s to 2023?Ā
Changjo: From the 1990s until now, I believe every era has been the golden age of K-pop. I have no doubt that K-pop culture will continue to grow even more. There are both senior and junior artists who constantly create new things, going beyond good music. I think all the artists who shine in the K-pop genre are amazing, and I feel grateful as well. We will also work hard to contribute to the development of the K-pop culture.
Ricky: I also feel like every era is a golden age. The K-pop genre has never stood still. Every time, many groups showcase good music and their growth is consistent. With all artists making efforts, I think we can say that every era is the golden age of K-pop.
If you choose your own “song to listen to alone”? Excluding TEEN TOP songs. Recommend a representative K-pop song that is not well-known but I love very much.Ā
Chunji: Although you asked me to exclude Teen Top songs, I would really appreciate it if you could listen to our Teen Top songs. There’s not a single song in our albums that we consider disposable. Apart from the songs that have been loved so far, there are many great songs. I would love to see those songs highlighted and talked about as a “treasure trove of B-side tracks.”
Niel: I hope you give the song “DAY” a listen. It’s a song that Changjo personally participated in writing and composing. Perhaps because of his direct involvement, Changjo’s sweet vocals really shine in the song. I hope you give it a listen.
What is TEEN TOP like when you have a lot of personal time? Are you a homebody or a free spirit? For example, when I meet with my members or friends, I usually go to ć ć and eat ć ć and do ć ć !
Changjo: I mainly spend my time at home. From my childhood to becoming an adult, I was constantly busy both domestically and internationally. As a result, I realized the importance of personal time and rest. I’m discovering how to truly relax during my free time, what activities to engage in, and how to recharge my energy in my own unique way.
Ricky: I enjoy meeting up with friends for a cup of coffee. Even during my personal time, I also meet up with the members. I often meet Chunji and we enjoy delicious meals together while having deep conversations. With Niel, we sometimes play golf. And I frequently meet and spend a lot of time with Changjo. When I have personal time, I make an effort to meet people and spend time with them.
I heard that all TEEN TOP members love games. If you hadn’t become TEEN TOP and worked at a normal game company, what position would you be in? Ex. Programmer, graphic designer, animator, planner, marketer? Or a pro-gamer?Ā
Chunji: I think I would be a professional gamer. I really enjoy gaming and I’m quite good at it. It would be a role that allows me to best utilize my skills.
Niel: I also think I would be a professional gamer. Although I enjoy gaming, I’m not sure if I’m realistically good enough to pursue it professionally.
Ricky: I think I would become a programmer. I love gaming and I’m good at it. I would like to use my high gaming skills to contribute to game development. It’s interesting to think about how to create fun games.
Changjo: I think I would be a graphic designer. I enjoy designing more than playing games. Even now, while running my YouTube channel, I personally shoot, edit, and decorate it. I believe I could excel as a graphic designer by infusing it with my passion.
If you spend a day in a country where no one knows you, what would you like to do? / What is the goal that each member wants to deepen in their career? Ex. Composing, vocal, dance, acting, talk, directing, business?Ā
Chunji: Iāve already started my business. I plan to take more interest and work hard in it. Sometimes, I feel a lack of expertise in the business aspect. I think it’s because I haven’t professionally studied it, so I have a strong desire to learn more and fill those gaps to further develop. I’m determined to do my best to gain specialized knowledge and skills in the future.
Niel: Of course, it’s great to develop my vocals and dance skills for my career, but I also want to take a deep rest. Since I’ve been active since a young age, it would be nice to relax without any particular thoughts or worries.
Did you have ever done any part time job before joining TEEN TOP? What was it?Ā
All the members have been trainees since they were young, so they have never had part-time jobs.
As a young generation who is going through a time of anxiety and struggle, please introduce your own stress relief and mind control methods.Ā
Cheonji: I meet with friends and have conversations to relieve stress, and sometimes I go camping alone to organize my thoughts. When I immerse myself in one thing, my mind naturally becomes peaceful. Just like how I go camping alone, I recommend that all of you try to find a hobby.
Niels: It would be great if we could live happily and only do things we want to do, but that’s actually quite difficult, isn’t it? So, when I have concerns or difficult times, I tend to recall happy memories. Even in tough situations, I try to remember that I was happy at that time and it brings a smile to my face. I recommend that all of you, too, recall your happiest memories when you have concerns or face difficult times.
Ricky: In everything we do, there are hardships and happiness. I believe that in order to find happiness, we should be willing to endure hardships. I believe that if I endure and overcome these hardships, greater happiness will come to me in the future.
Changjo: It would be good to have the mindset that not everything can be smooth and good. When we adopt this mindset, we can understand the tasks given to us better. I am also striving to live according to what I’ve just mentioned. If we approach life with the mindset of “let’s live our best even in difficult times” and “let’s try things we haven’t tried before,” we will discover a more mature version of ourselves.

WATCH ‘ChoCo in Hollywood’ EP3
WATCH ChoCo1’s ’85 IN’ Official MVĀ
The special memories thatĀ ChoCo1Ā made in Hollywood are revealed for all to see in episode 3 of the reality show “ChoCo In Hollywood”.
“ChoCo In Hollywood” is an Mnet M2 reality show produced by Sole9 Media (known for “Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)”) that follows the artistic journey of K-Pop trainees fromĀ ChoCo EntertainmentĀ –Ā Ā Jake,Ā TJ,Ā Sean, andĀ AnpanĀ as they prepare to stand on the global stage as complete artists. From a detailed demonstration of ChoCo Entertainment’s unique training curriculum to the male trainee team ChoCo1 (Jake, TJ, Sean) landing in Hollywood to record their own music, the show is a realistic representation of life as a ChoCo trainee.
On May 26, 2023, the third episode of “ChoCo In Hollywood” showed us some unseen moments that the trainees spent in the United States, shooting the music video of their new song ’85 IN’ (which was released previously in episode 2) and meeting star mentorĀ Jamie Foxx. In addition, ChoCo’s “avatars” are also introduced to the world for the first time in this episode.
Notably, the trainees were playful and curious on set, even pulling pranks during break time, but quickly went into a more mature and calm “Artist Mode” once the cameras started rolling. Despite the continuous feedback in English, the trainees were able to grasp the situation and implement necessary changes, thus producing an impressive result.
By this time, with their busy schedule, the trainees were coming down with jetlag but didn’t let it stop them as they set out for a luxury yacht experience, eyes sparkling with exhilaration. While ideally, they would have liked to imagine themselves in a music video starring famous rappers, especially with such a lavish setting, Jake and TJ suffered from seasickness, cutting their fun short.
It was also in episode 3 that another one of ChoCo1’s dreams came true. Upon meeting the one and only Jamie Foxx, the trainees were left with heart-fluttering excitement as he spoke to them like a friend and showed his unwavering support and encouragement
In particular, when the legendary actor and musician shared that his secret to success was being fearless and spoke in Korean, urging the trainees to never be afraid, it boosted their self-confidence by leaps and bounds.
That’s not all! Episode 3 also introduced ChoCo’s avatars, which drew the attention of viewers. These avatars, which were created by brainstorming with ChoCo and gathering their ideas over a long period of time, will reportedly be active on social media and in the digital world. Each trainee introduced their avatar, raising anticipation for their future activities.
You can watch episode 3 of “ChoCo In Hollywood” on the “M2” YouTube channel, as well as on Mnet today (May 27) at 11 AM KST and tomorrow (May 28) at 5 PM KST.
The next episode of the Korean version of “ChoCo In Hollywood” will be released on June 2, 2023, at 7 PM KST, only on “M2”!
Meanwhile, you can listen to ChoCo1’s latest digital album, “ChoCo Takes Hollywood”, containing their songs that are featured in the reality showĀ here.

May 6th, 2023 is a day I will likely never forget, not because it was my second day in Seoul, South Korea, but because it was my first time seeing iKON live in person in Jangchung Arena for the Korean leg of their āTake Offā world tour, their first comeback since 2022.
Officially debuting in 2015, iKON is a Korean male band composed of vocalists and rappers that have made a name for themselves as a group that has stayed true to their performance roots while being adventurous by mixing genres and singing songs not commonly done by K-pop groups. With a repertoire that hosts music in various genres from the intense hip-hop focused āRhythm Taā – their 2015 breakout smash hit-, sexy solo rock-ballad āKiss Meā by Dong-huk, and the fun crowd pleaser āFightingā, a traditional Korean Trot song by member Song, which was released on their latest album Take Off.
Thereās nothing that quite matches the energy of being in an auditorium where a group of high energy singers backed by an amazing live band and back-up dancers are performing live. And to use an old cliche, the atmosphere in the arena was simply electric.
Of course no K-pop concert would be complete without the obligatory opening video introducing the members; Jay, Bobby, Ju-ne, Song, Chan, and Dong-hyuk. To be perfectly honest, sometimes these videos do seem a tad cheesy, but theyāve become a hallmark of an industry, which itself is fun.
Following the VCR reel, the group entered the stage, and the energy immediately changed as they introduced the members of their live band, as each member played instrumental solos that all had an element of classical music that transitioned to a heavy metal composition.
After that fantastic introduction, was the beginning of the three hour main event, and what a kick off it was. From the opening bass notes of āTantaraā, the second song on their new album, iKON proved why theyāre still beloved by iKONICS.
From āTantaraā they transitioned smoothly to āSinosijakā, āAt Easeā, a brief message to the fans by each of the gents, then āDragonā.
While a VCR in which the guys spoke about their history and future as a group played, the group and dancers went backstage for a quick change before starting their second set with āKilling Meā, one my personal favorites āRhythm Taā – which had me on my feet, having the time of my life – followed by āBling Blingā.
The concert being three hours long gave the band enough time to do a thorough exploration into their discography, showing how unpredictable their tastes and talents are. There was the ever popular bop āLove Scenarioā, āBut Youā, and āUā a contemporary high pitched pop song that falls into a style thatās currently very popular with male K-pop groups these days, but with enough of the iKON stamp on it to make it different.
During the third set the audience was treated to solo performances by Jay who sang a smooth and soulful rendition of āLove on the Brainā, Dong-hyukās perfect for easy listening on a nice Summer evening āKiss Meā, Ju-neās sexy performance of āWant You Backā which featured brief choreography segment with a female dancer, something Iāve been missing in K-pop these days, with Songās fun and catchy Trot song āFightingā finishing up.
During the second half of the show, fans were treated to seven more selections from their newest and previous albums; āLike a Movieā, āWhy Why Whyā, āGoodbye Roadā, āWhatās Wrong Wrongā, āDumb and Dumberā, āBDayā and āFreedomā. But that wasnāt the end, by far.
After the audience was prompted to a resounding collective call for an encore by a digital noise meter on the giant electronic board at the back of the stage, the group came back on stage, not once, but twice. Giving everyone a treat to what basically amounted to a second mini concert where all six members went into the stands to be amongst their fans during a repeat of āFightingā. And I, dear reader, saw Song up close and personal, and Bobby waved at my friend Kenney and I. Yes, itās true.
iKON continues their world tour with appearances in Kyoto, Japan, and cities across South East Asia, Europe and America in June, July and September. Sadly they wonāt be making a stop in Toronto, for if they were, Iād purchase a ticket in a heartbeat because theyāre worth it.

LISTEN TO “RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES” HERE
Elephante continues his collaborative journey with AAPI creatives, this time releasing “Right Before Our Eyes,” with DJ duo BEAUZ and singer Mark Tuan; now available on all streaming platforms releasing on Fabled Records / Astralwerks. Mark’s smooth and steady vocals laid over Elephante’s signature melodic house sounds, alongsideĀ BEAUZ’s big room beats with clean embellishments, is set to give their fans a bittersweet anthem on love lost. The progressive chords and intricate combo of bass tones and high notes keep the track buoyant while the lyrics recount past mistakes that lead to an eventual drifting apart.
Far from despondent, this collaboration captures that feeling of peace post parting. There’s something incredibly freeing in being able to look back at our past and accept what’s happened, and while there’s still some lingering regrets, that’s what keeps us grounded for what’s to come.Ā This new single connects elements of electronic dance and pop to formulate a quintessential song for the summer. This latest production from Elephante and BEAUZ with Mark Tuan’s vocals is the perfect recipe of each artists’ best ingredients, making the song a must listen track of 2023.
For fans of Mark Tuan, the single reveals a new side of the artist. Known for his unique sound – it’s rare we hear a ‘house-y’ tune from this artist, but this collaboration proves he can do it all. Starting his career as a rapper with mega group GOT7, it is no surprise to his fans that there is a duality and flexibility in his music style. Dropping the single “Carry Me Out” just a few weeks ago, he breached the surface of his new sounds, and this track marked the start of Mark Tuan’s venture into more genres, including this exciting collaboration with Elephante and BEAUZ.
Over the past few years, BEAUZ have been growing in their notoriety in the EDM scene. Most recently they broke into the mainstream space with tracks featuring monumental producer Zedd and Maren Morris to team up for another hit song, showing their growing fan base why they are the kings of Psypop. Boasting a handful of successful albums and tracks to their name, this collaboration is no different. Like their fellow collaborators, BEAUZ are multi-talented performers who are ready to take the world by storm and this single is only the beginning.
Coming off the heels of his 88rising debut [NIKI, Rich Brian, Joji] with his hotly-anticipated sophomore album, Heavy Glow, Elephante is continuing his personal, sonic, and performance evolution into 2023. The producer ventured on a 20-market ‘Heavy Glow Tour’ last year, which showcased his guitar skills with stunning, dynamic visuals and effects. For 2023, this trend-setting, multifaceted talent is set to rock the country’s biggest cities with his new music and jaw dropping performances, including some of the most popular electronic music festivals in North America; with shows including Beyond Wonderland,Ā The Grand Boston in Boston, Heatwave in Chicago, Escapade in Ottawa, and the iconic Moonrise Festival in Baltimore. With his innovative beats and unmatched energy, Elephante is expected to deliver electrifying sets that will leave fans mesmerized and gain more prominence in the music industry.

About Elephante
A wildly innovative producer, artist, and songwriter fusing melodic electronic dance music with pop, blues, rock, and other genres, Elephante (American musical artist Tim Wu) is living what many people might call “The American Dream”. Ā As the son of Taiwanese immigrants, his Asian-American upbringing in Michigan was unique and sometimes isolating. Ā He graduated from Harvard University and entered corporate America at a top global consultant firm….and HATED it, so he addressed his unhappiness ā “the elephant in the room” ā and pursued his passion in music. To date, he’s garnered hundreds of millions of streams across his two indie EPs: I Am The Elephante (2016), a nine-track exploration of progressive house, synthpop and trap; and Glass Mansion (2018), which shot to #1 on iTunes! U.S. Dance chart. His upcoming project, Heavy Glow, represents his first full-length studio album, a largely solo effort further pushing the boundaries of dance music, featuring the debut single, “High Water.” Elephante has headlined two sold-out national tours, played nightlife residencies including those at Hard Rock and Wynn Las Vegas, and appeared at major music festivals such asĀ Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, and Electric Zoo.

About BEAUZ
BEAUZ is an American DJ / producer duo consisting of brothers Bernie and Johan Yang. From childhood, the brothers would quarrel over their undeniable similarities. Yet, their shared love for music brought them together. They share the same dream- to let the world feel what they feel through music. After graduating from USC and UC Berkeley, instead of continuing a career in their respective fields, they decided to pursue music production which stemmed from their childhood music lessons. Being classically trained in piano in combination with family heritage, the brothers embrace their Asian roots by infusing oriental elements in their art with contemporary electronic music. Their introduction into the electronic music industry began with remixes such as “Quicksand ā BEAUZ Remix” that has won a competition and their remix of Two Friends’ “Emily” has even reached the top #1 spot on Soundcloud’s New & Hot chart. Their biggest hit Hide and Seek, a collaboration with Strange Fruits mastermind Steve Void, reached millions of streams across platforms and #1 on the Dutch iTunes chart. āchilldspotā have released the music video for their new song āHIRUNE NO KUNIā (The Land of Naps).
Released to music streaming services today, HIRUNE NO KUNI, was written for a manga music video by chilldspot as part of a collaboration project to commemorate the completion of the manga āSaturn Returnā, an impactful piece of work from Akane Torikai published in āBig Comic Spiritsā (Shogakukan).
The HIRUNE NO KUNI music video is grounded in the panels of the manga āSaturn Returnā. The manga author Akane Torikai created new illustrations for the video, with the crazy and edgy sounds of chilldspot overlaid to faithfully recreate the world of the manga. The result is that both the illustrations and the music come together to deepen one another. Particularly in the chorus, a sense of comfort is drawn from the rhythm of the compounding words in the melody, with the lyrics of Hiyune (Vo&Gt), who read the manga in depth, dripping with her trademark wit. Fans who have read the original manga will enjoy the word choices, and a dance scene in the video in which the protagonist of the manga Ritsoko Kaji engages in a unique dance to the music has garnered particular attention. The video, enriched by the music, is a is a must-see right up until the emotionally charged final scenes.
[ Comments from Hiyune (Vo&Gtļ¼]
The manga was packed with both the majesty and horror of humanity, and it really made me wonder if it was possible to encapsulate such an extraordinary manga in a song. I believe that the charm of the work is in the sense of crazed exhilaration that emerges all of a sudden from a place of stagnation. We continually worked to combine the charms that we ourselves offer with this addictive feeling, and then pour it into the track.
With āSaturn Returnā, the images and words resonate in the heart, and through their transformation into song they are spread out among the people. This is then, in turn, returned back to the work.
I am truly grateful to be involved with such a wonderful network of people.
I hope this piece of work and the acompanying song will be shared and loved far and wide.
[ Comments from Akane Torikai ]
From the point when I originally thought that it would be great for a song to be attached to āSaturn Returnā, to now releasing a video into the world in which we can see this alternative character Ritsoko Kaji that I created for my manga dancing around to childspotās wonderful newly composed song āHIRUNE NO KUNIā; all I can say is that I think that every step taken to reach this point was a miracle. The result is something that surpasses all my expectations. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to express my respect and gratitude to all of those who make music, make images, make pictures move and who put all of these together!

Stepping into the role of director is a daunting task for any person to undertake, especially those who are young and sharing their stories with the world with people who look, think, see and understand the world differently than they do. In our interview during the festival, I spoke with Johee and Hanee about how they faced the challenge of telling a story they both relate to on a personal level from the perspective of being Korean women who made the difficult choice to immigrate to Germany without the support system of their parents, and learning to adjust to a country and society where everything is new and unknown, as Hanee’s character Min-ju had to.

Ā WATCH EPISODE 1: MY STRANGE ROOMMATE (ALWAYS) HERE
WATCH EPISODE 2: THE SECRET OF ROOMMATE (MIDNIGHT SKY) HERE
Following their massively successful premiere for “Throw a Dice,” rookie K-pop group XODIAC will release a three-part video for the singles “Always,” “Midnight Sky,” and “Special Love,” from their upcoming mini album, “Throw A Dice;” launching in June. Today, the first episode titled “My Strange Roommate” with the single “Always” will be revealed on the ground-breaking group’s YouTube channel, with episode 2 airing today and episode 3 airing at a later date, respectively. The boy group will also perform in Amsterdam on May 30 at the Melkweg venue and in London on June 1 at the Clapham Grand venue as part of their debut showcase tour. Ticketing information can be found here.
Having just debuted this past month with the official 9 members of the group, XODIAC is taking the world by storm with their music video for “Throw a Dice;”Ā having already surpassed over 1 million views in just one week. Even before the award-winning group’s highly anticipated premiere, the sextet has made their mark on the industry. The award-winning group’s pre-debut, all-English “Calling” became an instant hit garnering more than 1.6 million views on the music video to date, giving fans a preview of their soon-to-be musical prowess.
The first part of the series, Episode 1: “My Strange Roommate,” opens up with a slightly ominous encounter between members LEX and HYUNSIK, but quickly switches over to a carefree, laid-back vibe. The single “Always” plays as we join the members as they enter college, experiencing idyllic days complete with dorm life, budding friendships, and late-night snack trips. Despite the fun, charming energy of this first single, something is clearly amiss, and this episode paves the groundwork for the following two episodes to come.
Episode 2: “The Secret of Roommate,” continues where Episode 1 left off, but this time the overall mood shifts away from that optimistic, innocent springtime vibe to something a bit softer and more nostalgic. Camping trips, sleepovers, and bonfires complete the visual atmosphere, pairing perfectly with “Midnight Sky’s” stripped piano and string melodies that add a layer of maturity to XODIAC’s sound. Episode wise, the plot thickens as we get more insight on HYUNSIK’s background and why he’s been so restless as of late; giving it a bittersweet feeling that permeates “The Secret of Roommate ”.
The final episode, Episode 3: “Missing Roommate” will be released at a later time to conclude the trilogy series and upcoming mini album.

Breakout artist Sarah Kinsley unveils her new song āLovegodā and accompanying music video; listen/share the song HERE and watch/share the video HERE. Kinsley produced and mixed the song as well as created and crafted the Lovegod character in the imaginative video.
āāLovegodā is the most devious I think Iāve been in my writing,ā Kinsley details. āMy own ālovegodā is a perfect lover, an answer to a prayer, an antidote for romantic pessimism. Where can one find love these days? Why do we need it? Why do I find myself begging for some spiritual deliverance?ā
The track is from her much-anticipated forthcoming Ascension EP, set for release June 9 with Verve Forecast and Decca Records UK.
Watch the video for previously released song āOh No Darling!ā HERE.
Of the EP Kinsley describes, āAscensionĀ is about this unknown, ethereal placeāthe islands we create with people we have loved, where our phrases with them live, where our conversations outlast us, where every moment we have experienced lives again and again. Itās an eternal paradise. This is the center of this upcoming EP: the treasure, the collection of shining memories I carry, I ascend to. Remembering, knowing, keeping: these are the fundamental ways of our existence, of our ability to love. We are ascending to the place where everything is alive, where love is bright and fruitful, where memories last forever.ā
Kinsley is looking forward to a run of North American tour dates which includes stops in Toronto, Montreal and Philadelphia. Kicking off June 3 at The Drake in Toronto, the whirlwind of limited and intimate dates closes with a much-envied spot at NYCās Governors Ball on June 10.Ā She will also perform this summer at the legendary music festival Lollapalooza. For tickets and up to date information please visit https://sarahkinsley.komi.io/.
Since 2020, Sarah Kinsleyās riseāconcurrent with her music studies at Columbia Universityāhas been rapid. Overall, she currently has 80 million streams across 181 countries, a number that jumped following the 2021, release of her EP The King. The title track went viral on TikTok and is at 39 million streams and climbing. The EP was listed on NMEās list of top debut projects of 2021, the publication raving, āHer transformative songs of growing pains and discovery share a similar intimacy to the introverted, deeply human alt-pop of Maggie Rogers and Lorde.ā Kinsley followed that with another EP, 2022ās Cypress. Headline tours and slots on SXSW and The Austin City Limits Festival honed the singer/guitaristās expressive and unconstrained live performances.

WATCH ‘ChoCo in Hollywood’ EP1
The bright and charismatic artists ofĀ ChoCoĀ have officially been revealed!
On May 12, 2023, the first episode of “ChoCo In Hollywood” – the reality show following the growth and development of ChoCo Entertainment trainees into complete and well-rounded artists, filmed over the course of 5 years and produced by Sole9 Media (known for “Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA)”) – premiered on the MnetĀ M2 YouTube channel. The first episode introducedĀ Jake,Ā Anpan,Ā TJ, andĀ Sean, taking us back to their audition days and unveiling the unique incubation system of training that they underwent to cultivate their talents.
Jake (Yeom YeChan), who dreams of becoming a beloved artist and achieving “Billboard #1”, Anpan (Anyapan Phuwasetthawat), who is the embodiment of passion, TJ (Kim TaeJo), who has a distinct artistic color of his own and Sean (Sean Yul Bohme), who is melting hearts with his creativity and quirky charm, made their first ever appearance and captivated viewers. The endearing brotherly dynamic and playful competition of the trainees, as they learn freestyle dancing, DJing, and more and look back to their past selves with shyness, also drew attention.
With regard to ChoCo’s self-directed education system, ChoPD, the Founder of ChoCo Entertainment and Head Producer of ChoCo, expressed his dedication and fondness for ChoCo, saying: “To have global competitiveness, we need to be capable of creating“. Accordingly, the trainees are assigned the task of creating one song a day.
ChoPD also appears in the first episode of “ChoCo In Hollywood”, where the ChoCo trainees present their self-written lyrics to him during a monitoring session. In particular, Jake introduced an alter-ego called AMIGO (inspired by his favorite rapperĀ EminemĀ and evoked whenever he is in a bad mood) and presented a song that is different from his usual style.
On the other hand, Sean is seen addressing issues of racial discrimination with his music, and TJ transformed into a producer, taking on a leadership role, guiding and editing the members’ tracks to perfection, such as by encouraging Sean when he struggled during recording and making up for his shortcomings through editing.
The journey of the ChoCo trainees as they aim for their dream stage in the United States will begin in the second episode of “ChoCo In Hollywood”, set to be released on May 19, 2023, at 7 PM KST, only on M2.

After going on indefinite hiatus in August 2021, SM Entertainment announced Lucas departed NCT and WayV. In a handwritten letter posted on Instagram, Lucas also confirmed his departure.
This is SM Entertainment.
We have an announcement to share with you regarding Lucasā future plans.
After our deliberate discussion [with] Lucas, we made a mutual decision to part ways with the group NCT and WayV to pursue his individual endeavors. We ask for your understanding and continuous support as this was a decision taken after much consideration of the members and all the fans who have supported [Lucas].
Lucas is planning on showing his performances through a wide variety of individual works from now on.
Once again, we sincerely appreciate lavished love and support from all the fans and ask for your continuous support and interest in the future.
Thank you.
In his message, Lucas said:
Hello, this is Lucas.
Ā Today, I have an important announcement to share with you.
After much deliberation and reflection, I have made the difficult decision to part ways with the group NCT and WayV. I sincerely feel sorry for the members, and it is with a heavy heart that I leave behind a long-standing friendship. It has been nearly 8 years since I first joined the members, and I am deeply grateful for their care and support. I will cherish these memories and never forget. I hope that the members will remember me as Huang Xuxi, not just Lucas. I genuinely love them and will always support them from the bottom of my heart.
It took considerable time for me to reach this decision, and I believe this is the right decision for the good of all. Moving forward, I intend to muster the courage to face the fans who have been waiting for me and to pursue individual endeavors. I believe the best way to repay the fans who support me is by continuing to deliver outstanding performances.
I will strive to become a more mature Huang Xuxi and an even better Lucas.
Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the fans and everyone who has continually supported me.

Prior to his hiatus, Lucas was embroiled in a gaslighting controversy with alleged ex-girlfriends.
In 2021, one of the apparent exes shared on social media that Lucas is a suspected gaslighter and gold digger. In the post, the female shared she would buy Lucas luxury items as gifts and would sleep in a hotel with her before leaving. Days later, another female came forward with a similar story and claimed Lucas dated her at the same time as the other female. SM Entertainment and Lucas both issued an apology for the controversy.
At the time, Lucas and Henderyās single āJalapeƱoā was postponed. The song has yet to be released as of May 2023.
When the controversy occurred, SM Entertainment said:
Hello. This is SM Entertainment.
We apologize for causing concern due to our artist Lucasās personal life.
We recognized the seriousness of this matter and have decided to to halt the release of all content for WayVās Lucas and Henderyās single āJalapeƱo,ā including the song and music video that were scheduled to be released on August 25 at 6 p.m. KST.
Lucas is deeply reflecting on having caused great pain and disappointment due to his wrong behavior, and the agency also feels responsible for our poor management of the artist.
We once again deeply apologize for causing concern to many people including fans with Lucasās personal matters.
In a message shared on Instagram, Lucas said:
This is Lucas.
I apologize to those who were hurt by my wrong behavior. If you give me a chance, I would like to personally convey my words of apology.
I also genuinely apologize to my fans who have given me lots of love and support.
While watching the situation during the past few days, I have looked back on my past behavior and sincerely reflected on it. Looking back on my behavior of the past, it was clearly wrong, and it was an irresponsible behavior that betrayed the support that my fans have shown me for a long time.
I would like to once again apologize to everyone who was disappointed by my actions.
I will make sure that something like this does not occur again, and I will halt all of my scheduled activities to take time to reflect on myself.
Lastly, I would like to apologize to the members, company staff, the many cooperative firms, and broadcasting personnel for causing an inconvenience.
I sincerely apologize.

Inactive since 2020, male idol group SNUPER officially disbanded May 3, 2023 following the conclusion of their exclusive contracts with WIDMAY Entertainment.

Consisting of members Suhyun, Sangil, Taewoong, Woosung, Sangho, and Sebin, SNUPER debuted November 16, 2015 with the single āShall We Danceā and the EP Shall We. During their active years, the group released eight EPs, 10 Korean singles, six Japanese singles, and made three soundtrack appearances. The group also won four awards: The 2016 Model Special Award at the Asia Model Awards, the New Wave Award (2017), Choice Award (2018), and Potential Award (2019) at the Asia Artist Awards.
In 2020, SNUPER went on hiatus so the members could complete their mandatory military service. However, during the hiatus, Sebin joined Omega X as a member, signaling the potential end of SNUPER.
SNUPER was a group with plenty of potential. Their 2016 hit āPlatonic Loveā indicated they could have been a leader in the retro concept. The track is a favorite of many SNUPER and general K-Pop fans alike.

On Friday, April 21, 2023, Infinite Prospects Entertainment launched its inaugural event, WeBRIDGE: Now. New. Next., at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The exhibition and music festival focuses on the growing interest and influence of Asian culture across various scopes of the arts and entertainment and centering the culture through celebration. The views and opinions expressed are those of our individual attendees and not necessarily shared by Kcrush America Magazine.
Choosing to host this experience at Mandalay Bay is a statement of intention on its own. As one of the largest resorts in Las Vegas, the resort is an exclamation of intentional growth for WeBRIDGE. Itās befitting of the various hostsās ambitions but the Mandalay Mile was still relatively quiet as early as 11:00 a.m. on Day 1 of the event.
For those not acclimated to the area, entering most general areas in Mandalay Bay meant that a long trek with a handful of signs to confirm youāre heading in the right direction awaited you. That aside, the registration area had friendly team members at check in and the process was relatively swift.
Logistically, setting the check-in area in a space that wasnāt behind the main entrance to the exhibit floor would create more anticipation for arriving, versus seeing a little bit of whatās in store before your ticket is in hand. By Day 2, the crowd was noticeably larger and filled with many fans of ENHYPEN in attendance, but all three days saw manageable foot traffic and never felt too crowded or overwhelming.
Exhibition Experience
The expansive floor was divided into several experiences, covering various aspects of Asian influence. From Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) to those visiting on a visa from various areas of South Korea, the intention to center the creativity of this community was clear and exciting to see. The exhibition floor was divided into seven areas, providing engaging activities for all types of fans. These were:
- Bg1n (āBeginā), an interactive path at the entrance of the exhibit where life-size cutouts of all the idols scheduled to perform were available
- Boot1k (Merch shop), a space to shop event attire and other Asian-founded merchandise lines
- L4b (āDance Labā), a zone where attendees could learn some of the hottest K-pop choreography
- G4mRz (āGamersā), an arcade lounge with various rhythm and dance games
- RE (āGalleryā), an immersive zone where visual artists created new works of art before attendeeās eyes
- m4Rkt (āMarketā), a space to sample new treats for foodies, and
- GRAMMY MuseumĀ® Stage, a place to observe artist interviews, panels, and experience hi-touches with select artists
Art & Fashion
The two artistic exhibitions were immediately visible as the gal.RE (gallery) area was one of the largest and most immersive. A line of āsmart merchandiseā ā thatās patented technology with NFC chips embedded in the design/garment for unique features ā was available in collaboration with some of the artists onsite, such as SAMBYPEN and Mawz. Likewise, you could watch these artists, including N5bra, create large murals all weekend of their work. This, along with a dedicated D-I-Y arts & crafts stations with all the things needed to decorate free, customizable posters to celebrate the idols performing all weekend were truly memorable compared to other large U.S. events.
Clothiers were available with characters stylized for the expo, such as Los Angeles-based favorites KORELIMITED (a.k.a. KORE) prominently displayed unisex items and exclusives from their collaboration with E-sports team T1 Entertainment. They remained the busiest fashion spot on the floor, as many guests were overheard speaking about their familiarity with the line at other U.S. events.
Food & Fun
No entertainment and culture festival is complete without a foodie moment. The market had sample sizes of most items but might have underestimated the interest attendees would have for food within the exhibition area. Given that dining within the casino area could be pricey, thereās no shock that most of the exhibitors ran out of food before the exhibit closed! Filipino, Japanese, and Korean treats competed for fanās taste buds from companies like Four4Corner and Boba x Ice Cream.
There were also two prominent album and lightstick retailers, on opposite ends of the exhibit floor, which could not have been a smarter way to handle potential crowds. Mixed within these areas was an arcade where I left my lungs on the Dance Dance Revolution floor, a space to learn parts of choreography, and plenty of comfortable space to chat with newfound friends.
GRAMMY MuseumĀ® Stage
The GRAMMY Museum hosted exciting interviews with most every act in attendance as well as hi-touch engagements and panels. On Day 1, the stage immediately requested a moment of silence in honor of the recently departed, ASTROās Moonbin. The somber moment set a considerate tone for theĀ idol interviews, as questions about stress management and wellness were asked for most panels. All acts participated in various capacities but it allowed fans to see their faves before the concert, front and center. The first-ever lineup included KANGDANIEL, ONEUS, DREAMCATCHER, Jessi, MONSTA X, CIX, VIVIZ, BEāO, BamBam, and ENHYPEN.
When artist engagements, performances and hi-touches werenāt taking place, thought provoking panels featured conversations between various tastemakers who discussed the cultural impact of not only South Korea but of Asia on entertainment.
There are areas of opportunity for this event but the potential is high. With an estimated 15,000 reported in attendance over the course of the weekend, WeBRIDGE will hopefully be able to return with experiences that place a well-deserved spotlight on the diversity of Asia. Iād personally like to see if they could bring The Last Rockstars, Atarashii Gakko! or Lay Zhang could be future options. Time will tell if it can endure but Iām excited that we were there at the beginning!
