Baby Boo 밴드를 이끌고 N-DAY 밴드의 주역이 되기까지, Bada 가수는 케이팝 업계의 강자임을 증명해 왔습니다.’Shine’으로 데뷔하며 진화하는 예술적 정체성을 상징하기 위해 ‘Bada’로 변신했습니다. 솔로와 그룹 활동을 넘나들며 역동적인 커리어를 쌓아온 Bada는 ‘Kiss Me Baby’와 같은 중독성 있는 트랙과 인상적인 퍼포먼스로 관객을 사로잡고 있습니다. 주요 무대를 장식하며 탄탄한 댄스 기반을 다져온 Bada의 여정은 열정, 회복력, 재창조의 연속입니다. 이 독점 인터뷰에서 Bada 가수는 리더십과 창의성, 그리고 계속 성장하는 커리어의 다음 단계에 대해 이야기합니다.

You initially debuted under the stage name “Shine” and later adopted “Bada.” What inspired this change, and how does “Bada” reflect your artistic identity?

처음에는 “Shine”이라는 예명으로 데뷔했다가 나중에 “Bada”라는 예명을 채택했습니다. 예명을 바꾸게 된 계기는 무엇이며, ‘Bada’는 본인의 예술적 정체성을 어떻게 반영하나요?

A: “Shine” may not be the most instantly-understood name in Korea. “Bada” is the name I used during the two years of going solo, after Baby Boo and before I met RJ, and it’s my favorite name.

한국에서 ‘샤인’은 한번에 알아듣기 어렵습니다.

바다는 베이비부 활동이 종료하고 RJ를 만나기전 2년동안 혼자 활동하는 시기에 바다라는 이름을 사용했고 그녀는 그 이름을 가장 좋아합니다.

You were previously the leader of the group Baby Boo before becoming the leader of N-DAY. How did this transition influence your approach to leadership and artistry?

엔데이의 리더가 되기 전에는 그룹 베이비부를 이끌었습니다. 이러한 전환이 리더십과 예술성에 대한 접근 방식에 어떤 영향을 미쳤나요?

A: As the only member at my company with ample experience in an all-girls group, I made good use of that experience in N-DAY. I hope my experience of over 10 years may reflect some of my technical and artistic aspects as a singer and idol.

바다는 걸그룹의 경험이 있는 유일한 회사의 멤버이면서 경력자입니다. 엔데이에서도 그 능력이 빛을 냈고 바다의 기술과 능력, 아이돌로서의 자질은 10년이 넘는 경력을 통해 볼 수 있습니다.

You made your solo debut in 2017 with the digital single “#My Way”. How did this solo venture differ from your group activities, and what did you learn from the experience?

2017년 디지털 싱글 “#My Way”로 솔로 데뷔를 하셨어요. 솔로 활동은 그룹 활동과 어떻게 달랐으며, 그 경험을 통해 무엇을 배웠나요?

A: I’m not really suited to working in a team. I have met so many cool friends along the way, but nobody who was compatible as a colleague or a co-member. I was too young to realize this, however, and repeated the same mistake. If I had known this about myself earlier, I don’t think I would have started N-DAY. I now want to succeed as a solo singer.

바다) 나는 팀활동에 적합한 사람이 아닙니다. 멋진 친구들을 많이 만났지만 나와 맞는 친구, 동료, 멤버는 만나지 못했습니다.

나는 어렸기때문에 깨닫지 못했습니다. 그래서 실수를 반복했습니다. 같은 실수를 반복하지 않았더라면 나는 엔데이를 시작하지 않았을 것입니다. 나는 솔로가수로서 성공하고 싶습니다.

Having been involved in solo and group activities, how do you balance these endeavors, and what distinguishes your solo work from your group performances?

솔로 활동과 그룹 활동을 병행하고 있는데, 이 두 가지 활동 균형을 어떻게 맞추고 있으며 솔로 작업과 그룹 공연의 차이점은 무엇인가요?

A: I instinctively feel very strong and secure when team members are together, and even happy when we’re all together, whether it be in front of the mirror when we’re practicing, or on stage. But I’m greedy, passionate and love being in control. I want to feel the same confidence for a solo performance.

바다) 본능적으로 나는 팀이 함께할 때 무척 강함을 느끼고 든든합니다.

무대 위에서도 연습실의 거울 앞에서도 팀이 함께할 때 행복합니다. 하지만 나는 욕심과 열정, 권력욕이 있는 사람입니다. 나는 혼자서도 그 자신감을 갖고 공연에 임하고 싶습니다.

Your latest “kiss me baby” digital single has fans hooked. What is your song creation process like?

최근 발표한 디지털 싱글 ‘Kiss Me Baby’가 팬들을 매료시켰습니다. 곡을 만드는 과정은 어떤가요?

A: It was a hard challenge for me, as the track demanded such a different singing technique from my previous songs. ‘Kiss Me Baby’ is a song that improves my vocal skills, but also a relaxing song to listen to while driving.

바다) 제가 그동안 불렀던 노래의 발성법이랑 너무 달라서 많이 힘들었습니다. Kiss me baby는 내 보컬 실력을 향상 시켜주는 노래면서 드라이브할 때 편안하게 듣기좋은 곡입니다.

Your recent performances on SBS, MBC, and KBS have been well-received. How do you prepare for these appearances, and what do they mean to you?

최근 SBS, MBC, KBS에 출연해서 좋은 반응을 얻고 있습니다. 이러한 출연은 어떻게 준비하며, 어떤 의미가 있나요?

A: I’m to my company what Boa means to SM. My company began through me and acting through me in everything. Artists to come after me won’t have it as hard as me, to pave through. I also am so grateful for the management at my company, and want to be a profitable artist for everyone. I wanna be the artist to ‘construct my company’s building’.

우리 회사에서 나는 SM의 보아같은 존재입니다. 우리 회사는 나를 통해 시작하며 나를 통해 모든 일들을 해내고 있습니다. 내 뒤는 이제부터 쉬워질 겁니다. 나는 회사에게 너무 감사합니다.

내가 어서 이익이 되는 존재가 되어 회사에 수익창출을 해주는 인물이 되고 싶습니다. 나는 회사의 사옥을 지어주고 싶습니다.

You have a rich background in dance. What first drew you to dance, and how has your journey evolved over the years?

무용에 대한 풍부한 배경 지식을 가지고 계십니다. 처음 무용을 시작하게 된 계기는 무엇이며, 그 여정은 어떻게 발전해 왔나요?

A: I think I began dancing in grade school, or maybe as a seven-year-old in my dad’s car. I danced for sports competitions, middle and high school talent shows, for dance teams, then for college…I really love dancing. I feel the most lonely and yet the happiest when I dance. I myself am Dance.

바다) 아주 처음 나는 초등학교 1,2학년 때 춤을 추었던 것 같습니다. 운동회에 춤을 추고 중학교에 장기자랑에 나가고 고등학교에 장기자랑과 댄스부를 하고 대학교를 진학하고 춤을 정말 사랑합니다.

나는 춤을 추는 순간 가장 고독하고 가장 행복합니다. 내 자신이 곧 춤입니다.

If you had to describe your personality using only three words, which ones would you choose?

자신의 성격을 세 단어로만 설명해야 한다면 어떤 단어를 선택하시겠습니까?

A: Cuteness, a Queen, a Magpie (a symbol of hard work and luck in Korean folklore).

Having been part of dance teams like Babys and Happty, how have these experiences shaped your performance style?

Babys와 Happty 같은 댄스 팀에서 활동한 경험이 있는데, 이러한 경험이 퍼포먼스 스타일에 어떤 영향을 미쳤나요?

A: You really do know a lot about me, I’m so flattered. I learned that the real world is oblivious to my sweat and hard work put into dancing. What a Management or representing company can do is not easy. I learned that an artist like me can’t make it on their own.  Life is a tough dealer, I found out the hard way.

나에 대해 정말 많이 조사하셨군요. 감사합니다.

내 몸을 갈아 넣어 춤을 춰도 세상은 알아주지 않는다는 현실을 배웠습니다. 매니지먼트나 엔터테이먼트가 할 수 있는 일은 결코 쉬운 일이 아닙니다,

저처럼 아티스트가 해낼 수 있는 일이 아니다. 현실은 나를 후려친다. 라는 걸 피부로 배웠습니다.

How do you maintain a competitive edge in this demanding entertainment industry and what advice would you give to upcoming artists?

이 까다로운 엔터테인먼트 업계에서 어떻게 경쟁력을 유지하고 있으며, 앞으로의 아티스트들에게 어떤 조언을 해주고 싶으신가요?

A: I hope that through me, someone somewhere, maybe the other side of the globe, might come to have a dream. Just like I did watching Michael Jackson. You’ve got to work for it, go through all the pain and solitude. My competitiveness as Bada is myselt, and there is nothing I can do other than continue to improve myself. My company is discovering the necessary elements of Bada the character, from the talents that I have  and making me into a diamond from the rough gemstone. I am very lucky to have met my management.

저를 통해 지구 반대편의 있는 누군가도 꿈을 갖게 되길 바랍니다. 내가 마이클잭슨을 보며 꿈을 꿨듯이.

그냥 연습하면 된다. 그 고통도 외로움도 다 지나가야만 한다. 라고 말해주고 싶습니다.

바다의 경쟁력은 나 자신 자체가 경쟁력이라 생각하며 온전히 계속해서 나를 갈고 닦는 일밖에는 내가 할 수 있는 일은 없습니다.

현재 회사에서 그런 나의 재능들 속에 바다라는 캐릭터 구축과 필요한 요소들을 잘 꺼내서 사용해주고 만들어주고 원석을 보석으로 다듬어 주고 있습니다.

나는 회사를 정말 잘 만났습니다.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

5년 후 자신의 모습은 어떤 모습일까요?

A: I am living my dream life already, on the tour for my concerts. I have paid back my company for more than I have received in support, having built up the building for my management. I will carry on with my endless album recording, music show appearances, national and world tours.

나는 이미 내 꿈을 이뤄서 콘서트 투어를 다니며 살고 있습니다.

5년 후라면 멈출 수 없는 콘서트의 삶이 이미 시작된 지점입니다.

나는 회사에 사옥을 지어주고도 남을만큼 돈으로 회사에 지금 받은 이 모든 서포트를 갚았습니다.

끊임 없는 앨범제작, 음악방송 활동, 전국, 월드 투어를 멈추지 않고 나는 계속해서 해나갈 겁니다.

What would you like to say to your fans?

팬들에게 하고 싶은 말이 있나요?

A: I’m gonna reach the top. Come with me on my wholesome growing journey. Keep an eye on me. Love you, my babes.
